Buy itsslow's car. :poke:

I bet he'd give you a good S197forum deal!

Plus, I want to see it gone so I am not tempted to drive up there and buy it!

It's a clean 07 for $9900! That's a deal of the year IMO. Clean new edges aren't much cheaper too! I'll come down on the price when it has stock wheels and stock bumpers

theres a handful of cars on ebay with +/- 80k miles for 12-13. thats the way id go before buying something with double the mileage for a few grand less. hell if you have the money theres an 06 for 14k with 30k miles.

I know the price issue has sidetracked this thread. I was more interested in the aspect of buying a high-mileage car - reliability and potential issues that a car with 170K miles on it may have. Price is a factor, but was not the main factor in my original post.

I personally would shy away from any car with that many miles but with the way cars are built today, it's probably not logical for me to think that way.

Some years back, my dad bought a used Toyota Tundra with 130,000 miles on it and he has yet to have any issues with it. You'd never know by looking at or driving it that it has close to 200,000 miles on it.

Looks like you passed anyways, but I bought mine a year ago @ almost 140k, for about $11k. Was the cheapest around here by like 5k. New Edge's still fetch into the teens around here.

Same situation here. You just don't see $10-11K s197s here. I must be nice to live where some of these guys can pay $7-9K for a high-mileage one. You just don't see them here. If you really want to get into one, you have to pay! Same way with new edges. I'm also looking at them, and they're either rolling POS, or they have the ungodliest 'mods' I've ever witnessed. Clean, used Mustang GTs are tough to find here.

anything can happen with a motor with that many miles, it has had alot of miles for stupid stuff to happen to it (heat soak, low oil pressure, etc)
