Has anybody noticed the pic in the link the OP posted look exactly like kooks headers. If they copied kooks design these headers may fit pretty decent cause my kooks headers have plenty of clearance.

i guess the pypes are a no go then.

so is there any way to avoid the price tag of the kooks for other headers that might be similar in quality? or it just kooks or go home sort of deal, lol.

also does anyone know if my boomtubes will be fine with headers and a catted h pipe or should i consider other axlebacks?

I fear the because the boomtubes is a straight through design (pretty much a muffler delete with resonators) that it might get too f'ing LOUD... this car is a daily driver so ya!

i know yours scream!!!... ive seen your vids with the pypes violators i think it was and the headers.

i think again the pricing is so close with the jba's i would rather go kooks.

how do the bbk's hold up among this crowd in comparison to the ones mentioned.

what is your car making at the wheels anyways bigwilly?

I'm somewhere in the 290's last I checked. I don't get too big on the numbers though. I just need it to be fast.

The ceramic coated Mac long tubes (which are actually mid-length) are about $500 and perform just as well as the Kooks, according to that 5.0 Mustangs magazine article. Yes, I know, they used different size primaries.

Don't drink the Kool-aid!!!

cool. I think i may look into the mac's... i saw that article btw... kooks definitely was the king winner in that shootout.

i wonder if mac makes a decent h pipe or do they just make prochambers?

anyways... thanks for your help everyone.

now for the one thing that never got answered... should i get any bungs welded when i get all this work done... and if so, how many and where exactly?

thanks again.

If the quality of their long tubes is anything like the quality of their midpipes, I'd say avoid those headers at all costs.

This man speaks the truth. I was battling a mid-muffler install for several hours last night...I'm scrapping everything but the mufflers and taking it to a shop. Fitment was complete trash; I'm just glad I bought it used.

That said, dumps after the (Borla) X sound pretty wicked!

Im surprised to hear that the mac's being mid-length made more power than say JBA or BBK. BBK seems pretty inexpensive, how do they ramp with the other headers?

Pypes on the left. Kooks on the right. Care to change your mind?

YES the pypes are a DIRECT copy of the kooks headers. How do I know, because i bought the kooks headers that pypes used to make their copy. I got my kooks directly from the pypes guys at ford carlisle event. Looked at the pypes copy there, they seem nice and yes, are a direct copy of kooks.

No, the only bungs you need will already be in whatever aftermarket mid-pipe you get. Like I mentioned before, you will need rear O2 sensor cable extenders like American Muscle sells, and maybe one for the front one as well. Do not drill into your coated long tubes... it'll crack that stuff.

If you run a wideband air:fuel ratio gauge, you'll need a bung for that. Mine is right in front of the driver's side cat, or where the cat would be if I had any.

I'm pretty confident looks can be identical but I'll eat my stock mufflers if they fit as well as Kooks/AR/etc..doesn't take much warping, etc. to make installation an SOB...

lol, yes they are IDENTICAL. the ones pictured are from a new edge i believe, i had them in my hands and compared them.

LOL !! Than say the photo is wrong. I'm saying by the photo they are not identical. Do you agree?

I haven't had a set of Pypes LTs in my hands and don't think I will ever have the 'pleasure' ...

Well crap, that changes things. If I can deny Kooks a sale and get the same product (or close enough), I might give up on waiting forever for Mac's backorder.

I stand corrected. The picture of the Kooks headers in my previous post was from Lethal Performance, advertised as for the 05-09 Mustang. The picture used is incorrect. The picture is for the 99-04 2V Mustang. You can tell by the upper and lower bolt holes being staggered, not vertical. Several other websites have the wrong picture also, BMR Fabrication being another.

I found another picture from Sean Hyland Motorsports that appears to show the correct picture that indeed looks very similar to the Pypes headers.

Very interesting indeed that the Pypes are an exact copy of the kooks. I wonder if the fitment is exact. Does anyone actually have these yet? Im curious to see how they sound and how much rwhp they add.
