so I take it that pypes is actually making a quality product now? I know I had some fitment issues with my o/r h pipe and couldnt stand the sound of it while i was driving and took it off. But the longtubes are sounding like they are the route to go huh? Just gotta wait for a catted H pipe and ill be set :D

How was that CAM install

Well I ran into a couple issues with my cam install but it was due to the people I had helping. Got the passenger side done and then started the driver side. Got it done except for the putting back in the #8 cylinder cam follower. Well my friend but the follower back in while I was on a piss break and needless to say he compressed the valve spring down instead of back up and the retainer locks popped out. Therefore I had to go through the task of getting the valve spring back on after I found the retainers. Well then while trying to reinstall the valve spring my specialty tool compress broke! I emailed the company and they overnighted a new one for free! Got the spring installed and then buttoned her back up! She is good to run other than needed an 02 extension. I'm not that great and wiring but believe if that extension doesn't come in soon (supposedly shipping on 9/11 but the tracking info still says "billing info received") then I will make my own!

Old thread, kinda- anyhow glad to hear the install went well! I am really happy to hear that they are a quality product and fit good! I plan to have these on my car in a few weeks or maybe a month.

After my purchase of 20in DD Black bullitts, i think dad will kill me =)!

I've got pypes headers on my current car and i have ZERO complaints. I'd take them over BBKs, JBAs, and even MACs because of the stainless steel and them being only a 3/4 length header and not losing any ground clearance (car is lowered). The fitment is great and its by far the best header i could find for the money. I paid the money for the Kooks on my 05 and they fit great as well, but I didnt have the cash flow at the time i was building my 06 and opted for the Pypes bc a friend of mine had them. They look identical side by side and we didnt have any troubles getting them installed at all. Save your money and get a quality header that isnt made out of mild steel....buy Pypes!

^What he said, i have seen them side by side with Kooks and are the same shit. I have Pypes Longtubes as well! Check my youtube video or my cardomain for videos/pics. Fit was perfect, have had them on since December 29th, and no leaks, no nothing. I am so happy i bought them. Gave me a huge performance gain with my 3.73s.

I'm cornfused myself..my guess is that they stopped thinking on their own and started copying successful companies' designs. There was a dude that bought a set of kooks from pypes supposedly after they did their "R & D".

i assisted Brn N Rubr with installing his Pypes LTs/X-pipe and i was pretty impressed with the quality of the headers, especially for what he paid for them. I always preferred the MAC stuff for cost control, but it would seem Pypes is a good alternative.

One bit of info missing here is that ARH's are longer (more TQ?) than all the rest, and were not featured in the mag article. I'm looking into LT's, Kooks or ARH's, and I'll pay more for made in the USA. But that's just me.

Yeah i looked at both, but at my age of 21 years old paying for car payment, car insurance, gas, mod money, maintenance, cellphone bill, and college books/tuition i can not afford the best of the best. These LT's are very nice for the price and if they last 5 years, well- i got my moneys worth and it was well spent. Hell in 5 years, this car won't look or even have the same setup under the hood. At least that is the plan, i better start playing lotto ;)

Thanks man, yeah it will. I can't wait to be finished and be practicing in the world of Radiography! Would be so much more rewarding then working as a Server at Outback steakhouse.
