question about exhaust ?

i just installed a set of l/t headers and a off road hpipe. i had ford racing stingers . and its loud
get me wrong its sounds mean as hell.
but i get this i dont know how to describe but at 2500 rpm to 3000 it has a horrible trumpet or rasp sound like complete! shit ! then it goes away and sounds great. but it is still too loud! so heres what my plan is . i just ordered a set of pypes m80's i plan to run right before the rear axle. so basicly it would be the mm set up . i was thinking maybe slp lm with the m80 maybe sound different . but for now i would run them and the stingers together i would be using the m80 as a resonator. what do you guys think? or should i just get another axleback?i do like the borla sound. well any advice is appreciated

I had that setup, I loved it... Switched to an xpipe though.

I would try some resonators to smooth it out like you said, you could always get a quieter axle back...

should swap out the o/r pipe with a catted o/r h pipe..just my 2 cents i personally think it sounds much deeper and smoother throughout all rpms

yeah well cats are alot more than the m80's and i dont have emmisions here. i think the m80 should smooth it out a good amount .

lets just say my replacements that dont hit are on there way !!i will make post about them after i get everything squared away . they hit in a couple spots but after i made some adjustments they dont hit . but the company is sending me new ones right now. they werent too bad too install and they sound great . a great deal for the price! they definetly make power.

m80

well guys got the m80's from fedex yesterday. i was surprised they were highly polished nice looking mufflers for $45 a piece. so i installed them and they did there job. all the rasp and trumpeting is gone it sounds so much better.smoothed it out alot also made it alot quiter nice deep tone .
i would like it to be a little bit louder but i was thinking maybe take the stingers off and run maybe slp loudmouths . but it will stay like it is for a while . i think it will get a little louder once the fiberglass in the mufflers break up a little. so anyone thinking about running a resonator / muffler use these they fit great also . i installed them before the rear axle.
