Question on Breathers.

I wanted to get a Breather for my 05, since it is functional and looks really.

Is anyone experienced with these and know if this will be OK on a car that is driven every day, 20K miles a year? lol.

This is what I am looking to purchase. I just want to make sure it won't have any adverse effects on my car by driving it so often.

You can use that with the K&N breathers on both vlave covers. If you vent one, you have to vent the other. The PCV system needs to be fully open or closed

You can run the lines to a remote breather catch can and won't get the oil over everything. That's how I'm set-up but I have also removed the PCV valve that's built into the valve cover so my engine is breathing all the time.

I run two breathers and don't get oil residue anywhere. It smells sometimes but that is it, however I don't drive my car daily.

the cfm filter is baffled and didnt get too much blowby..the kn filters however arent baffled and spray unto the valve covers..like others have said go with a vented catch can. same effect and no spray. good looking cans at catchcans.com for a good price.

I never had much of an issue with the CFM breather and K&N breathers. Sure a little residue on the passenger cam cover but nothing that wiping it off every wash didn't take care of. I think a lot of you guys know how clean I kept my car..

If you run the valve cover breathers, go buy a black (or whatever color you desire) arm/wrist band and put it around. It still breathes, but it catches any residue

One the cheap, I ran some large (5/8 I believe) vacuum hose from each valve cover to a large brass t-fitting sitting between the firewall and intake manifold. I slapped a cheap Autozone breather on the t-fitting. No oil spray under the hood, likely due to the path any oil would have to take to actually make it out of the breather. It still expels crankcase pressure just fine though.

It worked well like this all summer- I think I have about $10 total into the setup.

I do have one small breather on the passenger side Valve cover, but I am not sure about the driver's side.

I was thinking this will give it a nice look and do the motor some good for what it's worth.

Passenger side is 3/8 driver 5/8 IIRC.

Yes you will do the motor some good by not recirculating oil back into the combustion chamber

How do you guys clean your breathers?

I didn't feel like spending $15 on a K&N recharge kit so I just sprayed some degreaser on them, rinsed it off, and let them soak in simple green for about an hour. I let them dry and then reoiled them.

I really don't think there's a need to re-oil the breathers since they will re-oil themselves on their own
