Didn't think of this before, but the crank sensor is now located at the back of the engine, so I wonder if the trigger ring or actual sensor was damaged while installing the flywheel. I don't remember, but I am pretty sure that it is keyed so that it cannot be installed out of position. I don't think that it would be too difficult to replace the sensor, but if the ring is damaged, it requires removing the trans, clutch and flywheel.

we are going to do the relearn on my car once it's all back together.

i never even knew it had such a thing.

we installed new cams in the car, with new rings on the end. So, I gotta think that could def be part of my issue

it's more of an annoyance than anything, car runs fine

Thats what Im thinking and telling them. They think its the exhaust blowing out the spark or telling it not to fire...I told them BS because if the computer told it not to fire it would not give a misfire on a cylinder that was not suppose to fire that time around. If it was exhaust causing it...it would be misfires across the damn board...not just 1 damn cylinder. And why did it run just find on the previous engine.

This isn't rock science, we have been using crank trigger systems for over 15 years. Then they even tried the "well we don't want to raise a big stink because Ford could void your warranty if they wanted to" phrase. So I am going to put the exhaust back stock and let them fix the M*)&)*& F)*)*)8R then ask them "I thought it was the damn exhaust" phrase on them. Its also a shame when a customer brings in TSB's and the Service Manager wasnt aware of any of them.

I'll keep you guys posted on the whole ordeal as it goes down.

Whatever happened with your car RTRBURN? My 2012 check engine light came on last night. I scanned it today and got a P0304 cyl 4 misfire. Just curious of this ever got fixed.

Mine is still doing it , shit is annoying ! I did find that when I start my car , if I let it warm up and let the Rpms settle down before I take off it barely ever throws the code or limp mode.

Seems like this happened to allot of us after having our engines replaced!

I had mis-fires two different times; BOTH times it was because the dealer FORGOT to do a relearn process to 'marry' the engine tranny.

I'd make sure that was done, and if not.. go in and have it done.

it doesnt marry the engine and trans- it is to let the pcm relearn the CKP (crank position sensor) sensor.
