Rear End Clutch Pack

I replaced the ring/pinion set about 8000 miles ago. It has about 150 trips down the race track. It started making a whining noise, so I was going to add some modifier. The oil was black. Is this the deterioration of the clutch pack or something else?

What is the recommended replacement for the packs?
