Hi everyone, I installed a Boss intake manifold and a PMAS on my 2013 GT. I reprogrammed it, and it's very, very powerful. However, the engine idle speed does the yo-yo, going from 900 RPM to 500, almost stalling the car. Do you have any ideas?
Thank you.

sounds like there is a leak somewhere. Make sure all vacuum ports are plugged or used and that everything is bolted down and sealed up

Yes, I thought about that... I've already checked, I'll do it again in more detail, could it be something else?? A mapping adjustment?

Yes, everything has been sorted out, the tune, maybe the PMAS is breathing too much air at idle

Is the PMAS clocked properly? I know on the older cars at times if yo upgraded the Mass Air if the sensor was not located properly it could cause an issue with air flow

a cleaning of the flow meter, in the pmas, could that be it?

Clocking a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on a Mustang involves physically rotating the sensor housing to alter the airflow readings it provides to the engine control unit (ECU). This practice can potentially improve performance by misleading the ECU into thinking more airflow is entering the engine, leading to adjustments in fuel delivery and potentially increased power. However, it's crucial to understand that this is often a band-aid solution and may not be a reliable or safe long-term solution.

This setting was tailor-made, that's for sure

Does stuff like that even work/affect anything anymore?

Both lund and AED told me if I want a rock solid idle like stock then I would need to stick with the stock intake tube and air filter. Apparently the larger after market cold air intake causes a more vague signal at the mass which makes it more difficult for the engine to settle down to a steady idle without first doing a dip in RPMs first (not all the time but sometimes). This is why most tuners will turn the idle rpm up some when running a cold air intake, to try combat this issue. But even with the higher idle it will still do it.

That's total bs. Mine idles just fine with a larger intake. JLT2

I know and some will say that and some get lucky. But many don't. Again this is why they raise the idle for cold air intake cars. Some come out fine, others don't. I don't know why lund or AED would lie. I only posted this just incase this is his situation he doesn't go chasing his tail endlessly. I was also informed that no two JLT2 intakes (other brands are probably similar in this aspect) come out exactly the same, and its speculated this is why one guys turns out fine the others doesn't. They are just cheap molded plastic after all.

I quite agree with that
