Reputation points...

Was wondering if you guys have thought about this. It is used on the hockey site that I frequent, and it really helps the new people know who is really knowledgeable and who is not. I understand there are pros and cons, but it could be fun to try out. What do you think?

Who/what determines if someone is knowledgeable? The members? Please don't say post count. LOL...

the members do. you get a rep point added to your total when a member thinks the information provided by you was knowledgeable or useful. i do believe that they can also subtract a point if they feel it was a complete waste of a post haha

for the record im a HUGE hockey fan (NJ Devils) and i play as well. 2 travel teams and 2 rec league teams

LOL...I can see everyone here being in the negatives then. Not for lack of knowledge since there's definitely enough of that here, but for overly excessive bullshit. Not that it's a bad thing...

There are different ways you can set it up. You can even do it so there is no negative rep. It doesn't go by post count.

You have to give someone else reputation points before you can give them to the same person again.
