I just finished installing my supercharger yesterday and got the car running. My problem is the temp gauge is not working at all and the fan is running at all times right from start up.Check engine light was on and I pulled the code
P1290-engine cyl head temp sensor high input
I tried to search first but couldnt find any definitive help. Thanks in advance for any help.

temp sensor is in the passenger side head, on the inside of the valley. it would be under the supercharger.

I didnt touch that sensor or disconnect it at all.Unless when I put the manifold on something happened.Would that cause the problem with the gauge and the fan running.Sorry I am a 45 year old newb to this stuff

did you inadvertently damage the wiring attached to the CHT sensor?

You may have pinched the wire between the intake manifold and the block causing it to short.

try reaching back there with your hands and see if the wire has any slack, you may be able to free it up. also you could try a mirror and flashlight to get a look.

I'm a Roush Dealer and have no problems with the M90. I would have to agree with whats been said sounds like a pinched wire.

who helped you drop the manifold on? i know it is a bitch to do alone and that there is a good chance you banged or pinched that sensor in the process. good luck with it, and dont get discouraged

I took it apart the other night and found the problem. You guys were right, part of the sensor harness was caught between the intercooler tubes and the block when I tightened them down.Simple fix and no problems now. Thanks again
