RPM's hang between shifts

Drove my GF's 2010 GT today, noticed that between shifts as soon as the clutch is pushed in and gas pedal released the rpms go up 2 to 3 hundred rpm and seem to hang there for a second or two. Any ideas what would cause this, no mods everything is stock

My 2008 did this when it was stock. I thought it was to aid noob drivers downshift more smoothly and be more forgiving if you upshift slowly.

If the car is stock the dashpot setting should not have been messed with but this is something a tuner can tune out. And do clean the TB if you haven't already.
