Last week, CNN did a detailed look at the biggest power damn In ven. With the big drought, there is little water to run the damn....and it's only May 1st. It will only get worse. No water, no electricity. They showed aerial views of the damn, which is huge by any standard. That drought is bad news, you can see the lack of water for the damn, plane as day.
I thought Venezuela was a major oil producer ? I suppose the OPEC folks in saudia arabia.... have lowered the price of oil so much, that they are putting everybody out of business. ( which was the idea behind the predatory pricing).
Both my son , and son in law, lost their jobs in the alberta oil patch last year. They shut most of it down. They had just finished the 5 year massive oil project in the tar sands..then the prices are down so low, no point in even firing the new plant up. It was touted as the largest new oil project in north america. 100,000 now out of work. Marriages down the drain, suicides, everybody losing their homes etc. Then BP / chevron just announced they are cancelling the next scheduled mega project, worth 13 billion dollars.
Sure, car gas is cheaper, but there is a price to be paid for it.
