I currently have toyo proxy 4's on my car. They are 255/35/20 in the front and 295/30/20 in the back. The tires are getting pretty worn and i was shopping for some new tires and i found the BF Goodrich T/A KDW.
I was thinking of going with a 255/35 setup in the front and 295/40 in the rear. Only thing i was thinking was would the difference in the sidewall height between the front and rear be noticeable? I like the fact of a bigger sidewall in the back to fill in more of the wheel well but i dont want the car to look off when you look at the wheels/tires. Anyone else running this size setup?

295/40? I'm running 275/40/20 out back. I'm fairly happen with it. Next time, I'm trying 295/35, though. The tall tire is killing my gears more than I'd like it to. Not that I expect much difference in overall height, but I'd like more contact patch on the ground, anyway.

I think with 295/40, even at stock height, you'd be rubbing a little bit. I rub a little when I make sharp turns back there. I would go with a 35 profile.

My $0.02.

what do you guys think about 255/40/18 and 295/30/18 ? i plan on running that on my FR500 wheels

You wanna run a 26" tire on the front and a 25" tire on the rear? Or do you wanna run a wider tire on the front than the rear?

lololol i actually calculated it wrong, i meant 265/35/18 and 295/30/18

You'll still end up with a taller tire in the front and my personal opinion is that a 25" tire is too short for our cars. I run a 26" tire in the front and a 26.4" tire in the rear for the street and I'm lowered. Even being lowered, I think my tire size is marginal. My next set will be taller to fill out the wheel wells better.

only by like .3" though, would that even be noticeable?

i want to run a really wide tire out back, I'm lowered on the prokit but have been contemplating switching to the sportlines.

i personally prefer a lower profile tire due to handling characteristics, but you guys have more experience with these cars, so I'm all ears :D

also, i was looking at Sumitomo HTR Z III due to their price, its not a race car already got one of those so i don't need crazy sticky tires... plan on getting some JEGs 15" prostars for the strip anyways

Plus, with a lower profile setup wouldn't that give me some extra gearing therefore offsetting the increase in weight by helping improve acceleration? :)

i will most defiantly be switching to sportlines
