Skwerl doesn't have ID1000s. He has stock ROUSH injectors; I think they are 52lb.

His fuel system isn't stock, GT500 + voltage booster. That's why I say, add bigger injectors with what he already has, he can definitely run E85. Not sure if he can sustain 700 though, I don't see why not.

I was told with my setup, I can run E85 and hit 800s.

I know he doesn't have 1000s, that is why is said "even with 1000s". I just doesn't see how a gt500 fuel hat with a BAP would make any where near that. When you have people like me and 05stroker, and a few others. That have 1000s+, return style and triple pump setups with 2 465s and 1 255 and it still isn't much room for more than 7-800 on e85. I could be wrong but I have been told by more than a few people e85 is a bitch as far as fuel setup goes and I think people dropping 2k+ dollars on fuel to make big power on e85 proves that.

Interesting. My goal has been to hit 700rwhp on pump gas, but I have fallen short to 630-640 due to keeping it safe for the motor running 91-92 octane.
But I am constantly reminded that if I went with E85, 700rwhp would be cake with no further mods to my fuel system.
Weird...

Anyway, Skwerl ain't gonna go with E85... lol

I made 874/800 on a stock GT500 hat, dual bap and ID1000's, and it's maxed out. A competition BAP and upgraded supply line might get me a little more, but as it is, I'm at 100% on my pump duty cycle. E85 would be much less than that. I'm planning for E85 and well over 1000rwh, but I'm going to need a nasty fuel system and even bigger injectors to get me there.

Using the rough estimate that it takes 30% more fuel with E85 you would have tapped out at 600 on that setup. 870-30%=600.

Sounds about right. I think some have pushed it further, but it really takes a LOT of fuel to make big numbers on E85.

Amen! I spent close to 1800 dollars piecing a setup together and some of that was used and or discounted. But I wouldn't have had to worry about a BAP or high duty cycles at 6-700 with the setup I had either.

I made 699rwhp with e85 and 19psi. My fuel system consisted of Bosch 1000cc injectors, GT500 pumps, and a single 40 amp bap. Duty cycle was at 86%.

I also ran it with a Whipple at 15psi and made 599rwhp. However, that fuel setup was GT500 pumps and 80 lb injectors with a bap. Without the bap it was running out of fuel around 570.

IIRC it takes about 18% more fuel with e85 and boost. Forget about btu comparisons, the higher the compression the less e85 that's used when compared with gasoline.

I think you will be very surprised when you go to e85 and see your own results vs what people think and post.

Was the 699 corrected or uncorrected? A kenne bell boost a pump runs 20v verses the VMP voltage booster only running 17v. If you had 52# injectors were do you think your duty cycle would have been? Is skwerls motor a high comp motor? I thought it was stockish comp. I am not arguing, I am curious.

699 uncorrected. Actual power being made by the motor. My 40 amp bap runs at 17v full output.

52 pound injectors wouldn't have made it much past 500. IIRC I maxed a set of 47lb injectors at 526 but I'm not 100% on the number. I may have a dyno sheet somewhere. I know there is a post on this site about it.

I don't know what Brian has for compression. I do know that he's not interested in e85 and that Lethe is right about this subject sidetracking the thread. I have a hard time not supplying information I have experience with even on a hijacked thread.

Awaiting your results Brian.

So, How did it go today Brian????

Just walked in, never got a pass in at the track.

I met Justin at the track this afternoon. They were doing private rentals and Justin was getting his wife's car dialed in with the new built transmission. He also had the mobile dyno there so he could show it to the track owner and discuss a possible dyno rental deal at the track. In between all that he said he could work on my tune. We ended up having some issues with the dyno (air compressor sprung a leak so he had no brake). We ended up borrowing a small air compressor and plugging it into the tank on the dyno.

By 7pm he had it safe but still lacking some driveability issues. I suggested packing it up and addressing it again in a week or two (his wife and kids had not eaten yet). By this time the place was getting busy as tonight is 'test and tune' night and the gates opened at 6. I swapped my wheels in the pits and by the time I got in line it was a little after 8pm. Lots of oil spills on the track and they must have shut it down at least 6-8 times. At 9:45 I still didn't have my first pass and left. As bad as the track was tonight I didn't want to wreck trying to make my glory run.

We did put down 698.5hp on the race gas tune (I don't know what the torque was). I'll find out when Justin emails me the dyno sheet. I'll head back out Sunday to make a few passes but it will be 20 degrees hotter so I doubt I'll be making any record setting passes. DA right now is about 35, Sunday it will be about 1500.

Yea the track was a mess tonight. Got there about 6:30-7 ish and saw the line in the staging lanes and decided not to run. Between all the oil spills and then one of the rotary cars flipping at 1,000ft mark it was a long night.

Congrats on the impressive HP
Probably a wise choice not to make a pass
Good luck Sunday

Skwerl put down 698.5 hp

That means you win the candle lit dinner at your local burger palace.

Although Skwerl did state its a "safe" tune meaning, there is more potential in there.
This may be an extremely safe tune to let Skwerl spin the tires and have fun until the real tuning can be done.

Regardless, that an amazing result considering the size of his blower...slightly bigger than a M90. sigh
Wish I that option was available when I was building mine.
