OK, I'll call the guy with the half wall setup. I was leaning the other way because the other one was new but I agree that a half wall setup will be nicer. I don't need a wide open view of the back of the toilet while I'm in the shower.

Full being new is a big plus for me, I think unless doing the bench which cuts down on space the full glass is the way to go

Brian - I have a brand new frame less shower glass setup! It is the pony wall and shower door and a smaller pony wall on the other side if you wanted it. The door is 78x28 and the other I would have to measure because I don't remember... Its 3/8 thick.

Frameless is the way to go. Got mine put in about 8 months ago and love it.

Got my fence work done for now. I didn't go all the way across the back yard because there's heavy vines all down the back side of the fence so it's plenty secure. I did fence off the easement between my house and my neighbor's house, and I replaced (and extended) the privacy fence coming off the side of the house.

To refresh your memories here's how my driveway looked before-

Now you can't see anything in my back yard without actually coming up the driveway, which will keep out pretty much everybody that doesn't know me. And I don't have to look at the neighbor's 15 year old pile of lawn debris either. I'm not going to live in a dump site.

And great news on the shower situation. Lee (WARStang) from the forum hooked me up with a brand new shower door enclosure setup. I need to pick up hardware but I already have a couple leads, any glass shop will have what I need. And most importantly, now I can begin designing and building my shower enclosure to match the glass I have.

Oh hell no! I'm planting more trees, shade is awesome around these parts. Was 95 degrees yesterday. I have 4 dead trees to cut down and the only living tree I may consider cutting down is over top of the pool screen. It has a steel cable wrapped around the trunk that has grown in to the trunk so I can't remove it. As the tree grows it will eventually girdle itself and either die or break. Plus it shades the pool and keeps the water cold.

I need a pool screen because there are about 10-12 trees within 60' of the pool and leaves never fall straight down. And it's already there and I'm not cutting down all my trees. And having the back porch screened in will help keep the mosquitoes down to a tolerable level in the evenings.

Wow, blast from the past!

The power guy came by to shut off my power today. I caught him before he flipped the switch, got the phone number for customer service and was able to get the power switched over into my name without a deposit or having to wait until next week to get it turned back on. Both the service man and the customer service rep on the phone were very nice and helpful. It's refreshing dealing with nice people.

I've spent the morning messing with popcorn ceilings. In my old house I was able to paint over the popcorn without any issues, so I was intending to do the same here. Everyone warned me against it but my experience said it was no big deal, and a lot easier than scraping it all off and starting over. I got about 3/4 through painting one bedroom ceiling before admitting defeat. Currently have a little over 2 bedrooms scraped and two to go. The rest of the house has already been redone.

I'm running out of things to do while waiting for my plumber, electrician and drywall guys to show up.

Fuck popcorn ceilings. My mom's duplex has them and they suck total ass to repair/paint when water gets to it

All the popcorn is gone, what a project. I used a pump up sprayer to spray it with warm water and it scraped off easily enough but what a mess. Thankfully I have a big cement bathtub out in the back yard so I was able to wash off afterward.

I'm going to start throwing drywall in the holes tomorrow. I can get it up on the wall but like Gabe I will leave the mud work to the pros.
