Wow! Nice job skwerl! The kitchen looks great and big. The shower turned out well. Are you having any issues with water getting by without that bottom sweep?

Not so far, but the door sill has a slight slope to it. Here's my new shower head and the towel rack I bought for the little closet area just inside the door. There used to be another door there but it was just too crowded and tight. I also despise wire shelves so they all got ripped out the first week. This towel rack was the perfect size and the color/style goes well with the rest of the bathroom.

Spent a few more minutes on the entry door trim today between errands and other distractions. Down to caulking and final paint touch up. I'll do that when I have some more baseboards installed so I can do a bunch at once when I open the tube of caulk.

You mean when the limb fell on the pump and broke the pipe? Yeah, fixed it that day.

My current pool project is the circulation jets. My pool has the jets in the floor of the pool instead of around the sides. They are supposed to cycle in zones and move the dirt to the deep end and suck it up in the drain. My main valve is missing the guts so it flows to all 5 zones at once, and the diverter heads are missing so the jets just blow straight up. The rebuild kit for the main valve was almost as much as a new setup so I just bought a complete new valve. The heads for the jets in the pool are $60 each and there's seven of them. I'm into it for about $700 and should have the new parts this week.

Finally got the actuator assembly installed today. Still waiting on the heads that go in the pool floor. I dug the whole area up again so I could move the pipes to glue them in the actuator head.

if im seeing it correctly, the water flows through the top pipe, then down those others. however water flow spins a impeller that turns some gears blocking off X ammount of pipes, so thats what causes it to blow first through shallow end, then next step down, so on till the deep end?

Yes. Once I get the heads installed in the pool floor they are supposed to blow all the debris down to the deep end and into the main drain. All the zones appear to be cycling properly and I guess I fixed a leak because I don't have air bubbles blowing out of the jets any more.

Yea, that's the same setup I have and it is so much better then having that rover deal in the pool with the hose in the way all the time.

Skwerl, when you get it all setup, you may need to tweak the heads around by pushing them down when they are on so it moves to the next position. Sometimes you get 2 heads working against each other and the stuff just goes up, then comes right back down. Not making its way to the drain. Not a big deal.

Thanks, guys. It's a bit overwhelming at times and I have to step back and remind myself that there is no deadline. I'm moved in and have everything I need and I can work on this at whatever pace I want.

That said, I began working on my pump house enclosure yesterday. It's only 7x10. I was going to put a tin roof on it but changed my mind because it faces the driveway and it's the first thing you see coming in the driveway. I'll make the roof a bit sturdier, deck it and shingle it to match the house. I have some old T1-11 siding to use but again, I may end up buying the Hardi Board with the stucco texture to match the house.

I got my pool jets from the UPS guy last night about 6:15pm. Stuck them in and they are working great. Yes, the pool needs to be refinished (the house was vacant for 2 years) but there is no rush on that. As long as everything works I'm not in a rush to have the marcite redone. Getting the jets working is the first step.

I found some cool door handles at HD on the discount rack last week. I like them a lot more than the cheap round knobs I have now. I picked them up and I'm willing to swap them out even if it means my handles are not keyed the same as my deadbolts.

Going to HD and getting material to work on the pump house today.

I think I've had enough for today. Worked right through lunch so I've been at it about 7 hours straight. Got the header attached to the house wall, roof trusses and two of the three walls up today. I'm using the cutout from the doorway to make the door and I'll use some heavy fence gate hardware that I originally bought for a double fence gate.

Thanks Andrew, I definitely don't have your budget but I'm trying to make it livable for now. I realize I will likely end up upgrading lots of stuff in the future. Trying to just lay the groundwork for now.

I need to spend $15K just painting the outside and replacing the roof. Baby steps.

Today I spent my 50th birthday working on my house and loving every minute of it. I picked up some more pressure treated 2x10 and closed off the pump house walls below grade. I also built a threshold for the doorway. I got the roof decked and the front wall put up and got halfway through building the door but ran out of light. Once I get it painted (and paint the house) it will match nicely.
