I still say the factory polished 18"s hold their own against any aftermarket wheel. Just my opinion...

I liked them a lot!!! I actually special ordered my car with those wheels. I kept them on my car for a couple years. When I bought my 20" American Racing black bullitt wheels (Carroll Shelby edition), I sold my factory polished 18" wheels(still had the factory installed tires with life left on them) to a friend. He's still using the wheels on his, just has new tires on them now. The wheels are still in great shape, look great on his too!!

Personally though, I feel that the S197 needs 20s to fill the wheel well. I have 18s on my 98, I think 18s are perfect for that body. I think 20s look too big on the SN95 body style. Just my opinion....

If they only made them wider. They were one of the reasons I bought my car.

THIS!

Those wheels are really great looking but if Ford offererd them in a 10" wide version you can bet I'd have a set right now. I have been tossing around the idea of having a pair widened but I don't know if it cost effective to do so.

Isn't it a couple hundred bucks?

I'm really not sure, I haven't looked into it. I just assumed it wouldn't be worth it, LMAO! If it really is a few hundred then that's a new project for the spring!!

I know forum member Timmbo (http://www.s197forum.com/forum/member.php?u=8464) had his stock wheels widened by weldcraft. Maybe you could talk to him if he's willing. I know he said he loves them in a thread, but not sure if he mentioned cost.

Weldcraft and Eric Vaughn Machine charges between 250-300 a wheel. Both are good but I personally think Eric Vaughn is the best.

It's pricey, but worth it in my opinion. I just love these wheels.
Here's my 335/30/18's on 11" wide Bullets w/1.25 spacers.
