Changing spark plugs and this came out of one of the valve cover slots. How do I put it back in? Does it need an o-ring or washer? Thanks in advance.

I would just push it back in. Find a socket the right diameter and give it a few taps if it won't seat all the way by hand. I'm sure it's just a press fit and doesn't have an o-ring.

I think it’s just a RFI shield.

Just question along with what I see? Did that tube have the plug inside it?? Certainly looks tapered with press fit, clearly visible. Either way, plug conduit or vent?? Finish up with tap in, block of wood or leather mallet. Hemi engine? Certainly agree with all prior here…

Yes, the sparkplug goes through the tube before it threads into the cylinder head. Part of one valve spring is visible through the gap created when the piece was removed. FWIW, the part is not separately listed or identified in the FSM.

I replaced it by tapping on a socket as Mooosestang suggested. No codes, everything is working fine. Once more, thanks for the forum's advice and patience.
