So in the quest for quickness I am thinking about getting a set of slicks to run this summer. My question is, what will break? Lol, I am more curious if I really need to go and replace my UCA. Car makes roughly 300whp and 320wtq corrected. So about 250 and 270 where I live. Only thing stock in the rear is the diff and the UCA. I am sure my stock clutch will not be a happy camper either though. Thoughts?

Slicks will actually cushion the hard launch blow over drag radials.
Go for it!

Once you get down to 1.60's on your 60' times then you should probably get one. It helps prevent the carrier bearings from going egg shaped when you're trying to twist the rear axle off the car.

Thanks for the info, I had never really looked into those for more than better heat dissipation.

I would still get a UCA & Mount like this:

Launch on slicks will eventually destroy the factory bushings.

With how big of a pain it is to replace I may just wait until it destroys the bushing lol.

Sharad is the one who mentioned the factory bushing issue yet it doesn't look like their system addresses this. I'm waiting for his response here.

still on my factory housing bushing lol.
Have you checked yours lately? I had no signs that mine was in such bad shape.

No, that kit that Sharad posted does not include a diff bushing. They can be an issue, though. I tore mine and its hanging by a thread. There was a thread with several people showing torn stock bushings. It was one of the many "clunking" threads I believe.

Not in a while I'm pretty sure it's beat to shit.
I was going to replace it a while back with the UPR spherical, but sold it because I thought it would be too harsh.

Think the factory clutch will be OK on slicks with that hp?

Hit or miss. I made over 150 passes N/A and probably 50 passes FI and my stock clutch still has about half it's live left and had no signs of slipping. Others have not been so lucky.

Also if you plan on launching it to the tune of 1.6's there is a very good chance you will bend your axle housing like I did as well as others. I would highly recommend an axle brace at a bare minimum and have your axle tubes welded professionally.

I have thought about a CHE girdle but I don't know if its going to fit with my whiteline relocation brackets.

Post a picture of the passenger side relocation bracket that shows the inner mounting bolts we should be able to tell by that. I had to modify my UMI relocation bracket on the passenger side. I don't mean to scare you but this happened to me and if I wasn't able to do the repair work myself it would have cost a lot to have it done. Basically cheaper to do some preventative measures now than to fix damage later.
