Slow response from AM customer Service

So I bought a full set of Eihbach bolt on wheel spacers from American Muscle this spring, (so that my new wheels - also from AM - would fit over my performance brake calipers) and one of the lug studs was so poorly machined I couldn't get it to take a nut. Called customer service at AM and sent pictures, etc, followed all of their rules. Three weeks later, I still don't have a replacement lug stud from them, and they say they are still evaluating my claim. My car would still be on jackstands had I not found a suitable replacement lug stud locally. All I want at this point is a $5 or $10 credit for the cost of the lug stud (Eihbach parts are quite expensive, as you already know) and all I get is "your claim is still under review." Has anyone else experienced this with American Muscle? I had more mods and pimping of my ride in mind, but right now, I don't think I want to spend any more money with them.

10-15 years ago they were great. Then somewhere along the way they went to shit. I used to buy from them all the time when I had my Bullitt, and even when I had my 2014 GT. These days you're better off buying on Amazon, since all they sell is cheap Chinese crap anyway.

I concur… used to buy from them all the time then parts and services took a dump (I assumed they sold).

FYI Always use the American Express card, you can do a charge back without any issues.

AM has changed in the recent years, probably because they aren’t focused solely on mustangs anymore and most of their stuff is dropshipped anyways.

I tend to use LMR.com now as they are more local in Texas but are more geared towards Mustangs.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I have placed 25 orders with them without one glitch. I am lucky that many of their parts come out of Lenexa, Kansas, which is only 4 hours away, so I get the parts fast. But I can tell from 2-3 phone calls that their customer service is odd and sounds like you are talking to a third party sitting in their living room watching TV. I try to avoid that and make sure I have done my homework before ordering. I use LMR as much as AM and a few others, including Amazon. It all depends on price and availability. Over the 50 years I have been restoring musclecars, I have had some very interesting parts issues. No matter what, it's going to occur. Frustrating? Yes.Good luck with your issue.

Note: I ordered a part last Wednesday. A label was created, but two days later, no USPS movement. I called AM. She said the Postal Service doesn't show up for shipments daily for order pick-ups (Crappy USPS), unlike FedEx. We talked, and she issued me a $10.00 credit for the inconvenience. The part started moving the next day and showed up a little late, but at least it showed up. That is the new USPS's worthless shipping practices under new management. Nothing to do with AM.

Following up on this, I finally did get a store credit that was more than fair, but it did take nearly a month. :)

AM sucks, avoid.
Their products are super cheap crap you dont want. Name brand parts are cheaper elsewhere.

Summitt has alway been great for me and I used to buy from them or Jeg’s but when I found out that Jeg’s sold several yeas ago, summitt is now my go too for most high performance parts.

Thanks JC, they have decent postage rates to Ireland like Rock Auto. I did buy a few things from them last year and I was very pleased with their service. I just wanted to ask in case I just hit it lucky at that time.
