No screwing around with this TH400. Since it wasn't what it was supposed to be and we had to buy some hard parts I splurged and ordered $2,500 worth of some nasty 2k HP billet parts and Alum drums that will remove over 8lbs of rotating mass! Worth a few hp and over 1tenth in 1/8th mile alone.

im getting ready to put a order in with summit to get all I want beside trans, ds and converter. Where u get those th400 parts and and the 8lbs losing would be nice. Also what shifter is that is it ratchet as im thinking about getting a ratchet shifter. what u think about those or why did u get the tci one?

I ordered a lot of the parts like the pro-mod alum intermediate drum from TSI(transmission specialties) the 7075 alum front drum with billet alloy input is from Coan transmissions. ATI makes some nice billet drums as well.

I prefer pistol grip shifters. I have used the Hurst Quarter Stick many times and it is very close to the TCI Outlaw but I wanted the black handles to match my interior better.

cool deal thanks man!! Im going to do a th400 instead of a 4r. Ill be watching this to see how it all goes for you!!

I may of missed the reason, but why are going with th400?

And cause its stronger and cheaper than a 4r!

But anyway how u going to get you mph gauge to work?


Early 90's 1-ton trucks had elec speedo th400's
I am using a factory speed sensor from those trucks and rescaling the pulse signal in the ECM
Eric Brooks said we can do that in the HPTuners software

Oh okay. I was told there a change that I can get the speedo to work but it more than likely wont. So now I know that I'll see what u can do. Thanks. Hopefully u can do that in the sct

Well a little update I got the transmission built

Axle tube weld been holding up for over a year and a half of beating on big sticky tires [emoji39]

Lca relocation brackets filled in solid to factory brackets and gusseted.
Added tie-down strap rings to back of LCA brackets to make tie-down on trailer quick and easy.
