Hmm... good point, you got me there. I'm not completely sure about that changing throughout model years, but I thought for the most part they were all 6 bolt. I know I had a Fidanza Steel FW that looked like the one pictured there, but the more I search, it looks like they have been discontinued. Probably better off with the Exedy brother.

Stock 4.6 3v is 6 bolt. You should be able to find plenty that will fit the bill. You might find a better deal on the Exedy if you check out this Exedy part number 07805 or 03. rockauto.com has several stock clutch and flywheel replacement kits for pretty good prices.

No, not for 05-10 but most companies offer both for the years. 2v's had 6 and 8 bolt cast cranks depending on what factory they came out of (Windsor/Romeo) from 99-01.
The one piece steel 6 bolt steel fidanza I got a few years back was discontinued. It was listed as 99-10.

Got my baby back!!
Saw the flywheel, the ring gear with the teeth totally separated.
In a nice smooth fashion, the inside of the flywheel was all intact.
I guess the ring gear is welded on?

Most ring gears are pressed on. They do this so you can replace just the gear instead of buying a whole flywheel. The "one piece" billet still may have a separate ring gear. The only ring gear that I've seen welded on is only on flex-plates for automatic transmission vehicles.

I'd take what the tech says with a grain of salt. I just had my Expedition at the dealer and they tried to tell me my aftermarket drop in filter was causing turbulence and was part of the reason it was down on power. Nevermind the fact that the MAF was diagnosed as bad.

Typically the manufacturing process is to put a hot ring on a cold flywheel. I'm not aware of any that aren't made that way. Even an aftermarket billet flywheel has a different ring gear afaik. It's due to costs. Manufacturing a flywheel from a homogenous piece of steel would have very high machining costs.
A guess would be that your perfect launches are the culprit. I'd suggest looking for an sfi rated replacement as you gather parts for the next stage. Unless 11 second quarters with a stock motor is where you plan to stop, lol.

You would have to look it up. www.exedyusa.com There are a number of good flywheels out there. If I was in your place I'd just keep an eye out on ebay. I can't think of a known bad flywheel or a manufacturer who has a bad rep for flywheels. I think that exedy would have an entire kit with flywheel, clutch, pp, and slave. American muscle has had some good deals in the past.
