For those who have been lurking under a rock somewhere for over two years...........
Exile Turbo Systems designed Stealth Twin Turbo System
Twin 53mm Garrett GT2871-R dual ball bearing, oil & water cooled, internally wastegated turbos
Garrett air/air intercooler
TurboWerx Oil Scavenge Pump
Billet Aluminum Turbo Mounting Plate
Carbon Fiber Inlet Elbow
All piping, clamps, hoses, fittings, everything
Hot side piping runs from the back of the turbos and joins the factory cat-back piping at the factory location using stock Ford exhaust clamps. Cold side piping runs along the oil pan, across the front of the engine to the intercooler, out of the I/C up through the hole in the fender where the factory airbox picks up air. From there to the carbon fiber inlet elbow to the throttle body. There is NO cutting, welding, hacking, relocations, or bullshit with this turbo system.
The turbos have been completely rebuilt by Rick Head at Exile Turbo Systems in February of this year and have been in the box ever since. What you will need......injectors (I highly recommend 60's), an SCT tuner, and a decent fuel pump setup. The kit was originally designed to work with the factory fuel pump at around 450 hp but I never liked that idea. I ran it with a single Ford GT supercar pump to 477 hp and wasn't wild about the pump duty cycle. Minimum pump setup with this system should really be the GT500 fuel pump setup from FRPP. These turbos will support up to 900 flywheel horsepower before they run out of compressor.
Anyone that doubts their ability to make power...please. We made 477 hp and 541 tq on 8 psi/10 degrees of timing/11.5:1 air-fuel ratio on a dead stock, 17K mile 4.6 3V engine with a 2500 rpm PI converter and factory 8.8 with 3.31 gears. Never leaned on it or turned the boost up. This was done on 93 octane pump fuel. At the track I always spiked it with VP Streetblaze 100 octane fuel as a safeguard. In my 3820 lb Mustang the car ran 10.88 at 128 mph. No problem. Backed it up with several 10.90's at 127-128 mph. None of these were in "mine-shaft" air either. The 10.88 was run at 1541 feet of corrected altitude. During the summer heat it is a consistent 11.00 car that can be driven anywhere.
I used the car to win the 2008 FFW Ultra Stang Championship and drove the car over 4000 miles during '08 and early '09. Car maintained 20 mpg in town and 25 mpg on the highway. Started, ran, drove just like a factory car with all the amenities. Cruising around out of boost the car is silent and comfortable. Push the pedal down and there's really not too many things on the street that can touch you. Period. Saleen, Roush, GT500, Cobra, Corvette, Camaro, Challenger......damn near nothing. It takes a KB-blown Cobra with nitrous to outrun this setup on the street. Keep in mind, these numbers were on a completely stock 4.6 3V engine and drivetrain. Add 3.73 gears and a 3000 stall converter......Hello 10.50's at 130+ mph. If you have the shortblock and fuel system for it.....turn the boost up and go run 9.80's at 135+ mph. Simple. Add this kit and you're an instant badass. Men will fear you, women will want to have your children. Or at the very least hump your wallet out.
Here are a few pics of the system.
What turbos? I don't see any turbos. That's a cold air kit. Filter is in the fenderwell. You'll have to spot me 3 and the move.
Oh....
those turbos. Yes, there are two K&N filters that go on those inlets.
Individual charge tubes tie together at the front of the engine.
Underside of the turbos and the exhaust system. No...my turbo inlet filters don't look nearly as bad as these. This was taken under Rick's car during installation and the photographer stepped on the filters.
As stated, the kit is complete and ready to bolt on. I will include a printed and electronic copy of the installation manual to the buyer. I will also throw in a copy of the tune written by Doug Studdard of BamaChips.
Now, the price....$5000 shipped. Kit retails for $7995 so this is a substantial savings. I will discuss taking a non-refundable deposit in the $2500-3000 range on the kit if necessary to help ease the purchase price. We can discuss that via PM.
So...who wants to be an instant badass?
