I have the garret twin turbo kit for a 06 3v mustang and going to install it soon, but I wanted to see pictures of how other people routed the cold side piping and any recommendations for installing it/tips you guys think would be useful to know. I've done a bit of work on cars but this is the first time ive done anything involving turbos.

AFAIK, Garret did not make a kit, they make the turbos of course, are you sure it's a kit from Garret vs. a kit w/ Garret?

did you search the site?

@stkjock yea garret is like the only brand ive seen that makes twin turbo kits for this car but it's not a complete kit sadly.

However you decide to route it, I would suggest having the cold side fabricated in as few pieces as possible. Piecing it together with straight tubing and silicone elbows is begging for boost leaks. If using a chassis mounted air-to-air intercooler, polyurethane engine mounts would also be prudent.

@AHaze good to know about the engine mounts, yea that's what I was thinking but there's a lot of tights spaces so we will have to see how it goes lol

Yeah it’s from their twin kit for the 11-14 5.0s. Seems like it’s going to work great in this application though.

Yeah I should have some pictures, I’ll just have to find them.
Really nice intercooler, but you wouldn't want to be parking up close to a high curb though. Is your battery relocated?
thanks. Yeah it’s pretty low, about even with the lowest part of the bumper. And yes, the battery is relocated to the trunk.

Yes that Garrett kit looks really nice and well designed. it would be great to see your own thread and how it performs on power once you get it all sorted.

According to Garrett, you can expect 483rwhp & 487rwtq with maximum boost at 9psi on an otherwise stock GT.
