If you aren't drag racing on the tire and just want a decent hooking tire to daily drive on then the nitto is a no-brainer. It won't 60' like the others but if you're not going to the track it doesn't matter.

If you're intentions is the occasionally mashing on it in second and running it through the gears with some spirited driving I think the Nitto is the right choice.

Yeppers, thanks guys. The Nitto's it is and that's mainly because of the amount of rain we get here. Otherwise it would be the M&Hs.

So now to get the 305/40 18 or 305/45 18? Saw the pic of Doc's car with the 45s and it looks really good. Kind of old school. I like the sidewall look, plus with the 4.10s, the 29" tire should bring my RPMs down a bit at highway speeds, right?

I've run the 305/45/18 555R's with a 1.5" drop and I love the way it looks. I would only suggest these tires with LESS than a 1.5" drop or a stiff 1.5" drop. Definently NOT more than 1.5". It's a tight fit and if you have a fair amount of bodyroll you might get some rubbing. Your 4:10's will feel more like 3:73's with all the extra tire height but your FI should make up for that anyway. They definently give the car a cool rake (if you like that). I'd try those and see what ya think. If you don't do many burnouts with them you should be able to get around 10-15k miles out of them. I liked running em at 18 psi.

I bought 305/45r18 nitto 555r tires last week, just waiting on my car to get back from the shop and I will let you know how I like them. I know they will be alot better than my 235/50r18 street tires.

Looks like you have a lot of guys who bought the 305/45/18s... lucky for you I bought the 305/40/18s. If you want to hold off on making your decision until the end of the week I can get some pics when mine get mounted.

I have a ~1" drop all the way around, so I should not have any clearance problems. Appreciate the input.

The way the weather is around here it looks like it will be April before I can swap out for my summer wheels, so I'm not in a big hurry to order this week. Pics would be great, thank you.
