Stupid question alert

I have a built engine to go in and I know I need a stronger transmission so I'm contemplating switching from the 5r55s auto to a manual transmission. At least a TR6060 or maybe a T56 Magnum. If I do go manual I want to get everything working perfectly with the car as it is now (stock long block). When I do the built engine swap will I only need a new flywheel (8 bolt crank) or would I have to change the clutch too? I'm thinking about a dual disc clutch and would hate to spend so much twice.

New clutch will be needed.

There have been a few threads documenting auto to manual swaps if u look.
