You guys need to quit lumping the 90's tribal arm bands with the rest of "tribal".

Polynesian is tribal. Same with Moari. It's all tribal art.

The stuff you guys are talking about isn't really tribal art. It's just lazily thrown in the same category.

Here's my newest addition. It's a work in progress, but I'll show it anyway.

I was born in New Mexico, and this tattoo is to pay homage to that, and also my childhood experiences living throughout the southwest. It's a feel good tattoo.

This will be full color, my only full color tattoo actually. Got several sessions left.

It's a bull skull and rattlesnake sitting on top of a cliff with a scorpion. This is all in the foreground, whereas the valley, and the rest is in the back ground. It will have a vibrant colorful sky and still working out the designs for the hot air balloons. I'm 2 sessions in so far. The bull skull is a cover up.

i hear where you're coming from but then most people would say it was poly or moari. but maybe thats just me.

the work you're having done is awesome by the way, great shading i'm interested to see how the sky turns out as that should be really cool.

It doesnt have a name. There is a base of poly, but the shading, dots, layers is not poly. It's his specific style.

His name is Q from House of Ink in HI.

I was cruising through your pics and when I hit these the first thing I thought of was the Balloon Festival in ABQ! I went back and read the story behind the pics and laughed that I was right. Very cool piece!

anyones tat ever got an infected spot?

I've been getting several pieces done over the past 2 weeks at a reputable shop and I've done all the correct things to insure the healing process but 2 of them got infected spots.

its almost like he went to deep with the needle, I can feel a knot under each "spot". now I have to wait for them to totally heal before I can get the color added.

I hate to (cause they are giving me great prices cause im getting so much done) but I think I may try a different shop today.

i've never had a tattoo get infected, i've had a very heavy handed artist do a tattoo and there is a huge difference between the two. it probably got infected from outside the shop. i've been told some detergents will cause tattoos to get infected not sure if it's 100% true or not. also wearing tight clothes and or it getting rubbed a lot will definitely increase the risk of infection.

My inner part of my elbow got infected bad since it couldn't heal properly since there was always movement.

waiting for it to heal is putting me behind on getting the sleeve done but I went ahead and had this chest piece done tonight. that way when we start back up the arm I can go ahead and bring it toward the chest.

I did go to a different shop and talk to them today. we set up an appointment for getting my elbow done but I wanted to get something yesterday so I went back to my regular shop for the one below.

I just hope it comes out as good as his work, I just cant drive to cali to get one done by him.

I want to get my sons name in the hotwheels logo and my daughters name in the barbie style theme. Thinking on the backside of each arm or on the torso area. Just don't know where to get it.
