Technical problem with key remote

Has anyone experienced a problem where the remote unlock and trunk open key buttons would not work? I had to open my door with the mechanical key after parking for about 2 hours, driving a short distance then parking again. It has worked normally again after that. I must have pressed it 10 times standing right beside the car - nothing.
I have a 2013 GT. I don’t think the remote battery is dead since it worked fine later.

I think the buttons get worn out. My key still has good batteries but will not unlock my car. I got one of these and use it instead. It is easy to program too.

Common issue. The buttons get worn out. You can open it up and make sure there is no corrosion developing inside also.

Thanks for the answers. It’s strange because I switched from using an aftermarket key (long story) back to a spare factory key so it has only been used for a month or so. I wouldn’t expect the battery to be dead, though it is original still. Also, it continues to work fine since that occurrence.

Thanks for the reply. No fuse problems recently or ever in fact. The remote is still working fine since my post with no recurrence. Weird.
