I just received my kit complete with two buckets and grit guards, sponge, microfiber towels and the rinse.

How do you guys do the car. One side at a time, or break it up into major sections (roof and all glass, rear end, r quarter panel, door, f quarter panel, front, etc)? how many microfiber towels do you need for drying the entire car?

I'm going to give it a shot on Sunday...should be about 48 degrees...

start at the top and work your way down, bottom half of the car is the dirtiest. road grime, grit, dirt n stuff.
I usually will make about 3 to 4 passes around the car slowly working my way down, focusing a little more on the front then the back, until I get it all. Wheels last.

Thanks, I read the link. I'm guessing this is only safe on a car that is already relatively clean anyway.

I THINK that's the idea. I remember in another thread someone mentioning heavily soiled cars should get a quick manual power wash at a do it your self car wash to get rid of any heavy grime. Mine's still pretty clean since I never take the 5.0 out in the rain...

Ok, did the car using this product. It worked pretty well, and the car came out surprisingly shiny. Took about an hour, and used an old rag to do the wheels and tires last. I still had to use glass clearner to polish out some streaks, and of course dressed the tires. I skipped using a detail spray, but it really didn't look like it needed it.

Couple of observations. If your car is heavily soiled, a trip to the self help car wash is a must to blow off the heavy grime. My wheel wells had a bunch of crud in there, so I skipped those areas. The second bucket started getting pretty damn grimy about half way through, so be prepared to empty it out and get another bucket full of clear water. I made up 4 gallons of the No Rinse solution, and just barely made it doing the entire car.

Cell phone pic doesn't do it justice but you can see the reflections none the less...

Looks great for just a wash, with a coat of sealer and wax I'm sure that would look incredible. I had the same blue color on my old tahoe, looked great til I'd take it down the street and the dust started clinging though

Yeah, I wished I'd taken care of this Saturday, then spent Sunday with a good waxing. But I had a million things to do today, and only had about 90 minutes total to knock this out...
