I like the guy, he talks alot of smak about his sponsors,other peoples combos (i respect that) but your gonna try to compete with a turbo motor with stock shitty rods? HMMMM your just asking to be a schlep and loose.

Apparently it worked out just fine for him last year.

We were discussing this earlier today. The original engine that came in the car worked great with the turbos set at 8psi and 10 degrees timing. The car was virtually unbeatable. And then....the idiot struck. My oldest child decided he needed to go for a ride in Dad's hot rod and scattered the engine after a 20 mile high speed race against his friend's twin turbo 300Z.

Since then.....we've had two stock engines in the car and neither one has lived at all. I managed to win the Ennis FFW race with the first replacement. It was in the car until a month ago. This one.....puuuhhhleeeeze. One eighth mile run and one 900 foot pass.

I still feel that the turbo system is very safe on a stock shortblock provided you don't do anything completely stupid......like.......let your 20 year old get ahold of the car. We had NO problems last season until he fucked things up. Over 100 runs at or below 11.40 and all at 125 mph. No problem. Now......something is wrong and the car just doesn't like what it has been given. For anyone who believes that machines do not have a consciousness or a soul I'd like to introduce you to my race car.

He's not happy right now. That, however, will change very soon. Time to go back to building things myself and stop trying to rely on some shop to work on the car and get it right for me.

And by the way.......Del Pino is bringing his convertible Mustang with him from Miami. We are going to take the belt off the ProCharger and slow the car back down to 13.60's so it will be legal. Damn thing runs as fast as my car with the belt on and it has NO ROLL BAR!!!

So, I have a car to compete with this weekend. Bad news for the rest of these shitheads.

Absolutely!!! Peter has been thrashing on his car for a week now and barely had time to get the convertible running for the trip here. He finally arrived at 10pm tonight. Damn but he looked like hell. Hasn't slept for two days. I paid for his entry fee earlier today and when he arrived tonight he asked what he owed me for the entry fee. I pointed at the convertible and told him, "Not a damn thing, Slick."


Also found out that several racers in Super Stang were NOT happy about him loaning me a car.

Now ain't that just too friggin' bad...............

He and his client/sponsor were showing what could be done with a stock bottom end. However, "something" happened and boom, out go the rods. Last year he proved that a stock bottom end can make good street power (mid 10s, if I remember correctly) and live a complete season of SD's driving style (!). Now that this has happened, I'll wager that he'll be showing what the potential of the Cragar/Team/Exile turbo system can be with a built bottom end. Should be fun.
