So do several considerations including upcoming medical bills (affordable health insurance my ass) I'm starting to consider removing the Turbo kit and going back to NA. I would appreciate peoples help sorting out my thoughts here:

Turbo Pros: Great power. Can always turn up the boost for more power. Good Fuel mileage. Turbo woosh is addicting.

Turbo Cons: Scraping on every damn pothole, steep driveway and speedbump. Heat. Extra Weight

Benefits of NA: Less heat. No lag. Lighter. Smoother power curve. Also have an 11.25:1 forged longblock I can drop in for a little more power. Slightly less chance of blowing up the block.

NA Cons. Power, point of diminishing returns for $ to HP if want more power. Poorer MPG (Has to be a consideration, she is my DD)

So, I am leaning towards picking up some Longtubes and a Catted X Pipe, Cold Air Intake and putting the 4:10's back in to replace the current 3.27's. For a car that I want to take to the Silver state, HPDEs and have fun with, yet daily drive, would JBA long tubes and Catted JBA xpipe be a good choice? Or should I get headers with bigger primaries and a 3" Catted X-Pipe (Catted is important, have regular emissions checks) I would like to end up with around 350rwhp (Current Mods: Comp Camps SPR cams they no longer made, were called Stage 4 when they came out) Comp Cams limiters, FRPP Intake Manifold, FRPP TB, Steeda UDP's, Aluminum Driveshaft

Any thoughts? Difficult decision, figured there were some people who had gone through similar dilemmas. Thanks in advance.

They do have their pros and cons but I can tell you with my new motor swap I decided to stick with a small bolt-on setup just on cost alone. Sure FI would be funner, etc but wasn't feasible for me. If you want to sell some of that turbo stuff on for cost purposes, less maintenance then go for it!

i had a full bolt on car and liked it but i wanted more so now i am turbo and am happy i went this route. But has pro and cons. I havent drove my car buy have rode in plenty of turbo cars and i am happy and ready to get mine running. I would prob keep the turbo kit. Cause after u sell the kit u will have tou but bolt on parts unless u have them already. I would see how much u will spend on buying parts (if u have to) and see maybe what u could get outta the kit then weight u options!

The hardest part of going from f/i back to n/a is the noticeable reduction in power. But, if you are content with that, then sure, n/a is less costs and easier to maintain.
Also, going to 410's will make it feel like more power is there than there is.

Good bolt-ons can get you into mid-300's. If that's what you want, do it.

Good luck!

I think budget is everything. Dollar for dollar, you can't beat a basic f/i kit for a stock 3v motor. Whether it's a on3/s&h turbo kit or m90 s/c. Your not making over 400rwhp for less.

If your talking about building a NA 3v motor on a budget, I'd consider getting a 5.0. I see them running 11's all day long with bolt ons. I've consider going this route myself, but I'm sticking with building a motor and staying FI. I Rather not have a car payment.

You won't be satisfied with na at 350rwhp. You also won't get much for a used turbo kit. It might be a wash selling the turbo and adding headers, cats, etc. for a na build. Put the forged motor in and run the turbo with light boost.

BTW that motor should get around 18mpg combined driving and 26 highway. I don't think it will go down much with a turbo unless you are always into boost.

Have you seen our kit. You dont have to worry about draging or heat. We have the twin and in about a month or so we will release the single kit. Pm me if you are interested. The hot side is stainless steel and the intercooler side is aluminum on both kits.

Having been cammed and N/A for the better part of 50k/mi and 5 years, I'm personally done with it, and will never go back. Bought myself a D1SC kit with some extra trimmings, I'll only ever run stock cams with it (which of course will limit my max potential, don't give a flying camaro), and big fat red race valve to piss off everyone I cruise doors with.

Being N/A I got tired of my powerband being 4.5k/rpm+. I don't think I made 150rwtq untill 3.5k/rpm. Which made fair street driving very dull. Just to have shits and giggles I'd have to rap the motor out. The cams grab attention and compliments, but the gas chugging and 4.10 gears or better get old fast. Long road trips cruising at 2700-3000rpm become a fight for sanity if you have a loud exhaust. And did I mention the lack of torque?

That's just my take on N/A. I'm long over it, and ready for a life of boost!
