I'm a little lost here. the or /h-pipe is missing the cats right.. missing cats will change the sound and improve performance. I'm not very sure what the OP is looking for.

Whats with all the LT nut huggers? So your all telling me my 1 3/4 mac ST with stock H-pipe(no cats), is no where near what the 1 1/4 LT's give? I ask that because it would be much cheaper for him to just buy $300-400 ST and use his or H-pipe instead of blowing $1300+ on an LT setup on top of pissing away his gift. Is that really all your best advice for this guy.. sheesh

a dyno with long tubes.. nothing about the setup I stated. Until, someone can prove that jbl or Mac ST and an or h-pipe w/ TUNE cant be close to that HP gain then I think we should not tell the OP to dump everything and get a new setup just because many of you did. Other then missing the cats/ adding a tune and equal length headers that can be on both setups.. what extra magical properties of LT's is giving it much more HP then the setup I stated?

just run the or pipe for now and save for the lt down the road why change out your headers twice? midpipes go on and off easily

Absolutely pointless. No power. Save up for LTs. The ONLY advantage over the cast iron log manifolds are a few pounds of weight, thats it.

Well there is the issue of no rust...

I wanted LT's but then I would want the rest of the exhaust upgrade to go w/ it and my budget at the time didnt allow it. My opinion if Hp #'s are what your looking for then its got to be LT's.

and how much more hp does your "catted" long tubes provide over my setup(MAC ST 1 3/4 w/ or- H pipe)? I'm sure you tried many setups with extensive testing slick. haha

again, you guys are telling him to dump a setup and no one can seem to prove me wrong. IF this was all about the headers only that is one thing, but with the or/ h pipe that changes things.

My setup works fine and I didnt have to get butt raped for it.

^^^ Wow people on here get pissed at times? WTF?? Just stating an opinion that LONG tubes are better over all in the end. I bought JBA shorties/decided to install JBA LONG TUBES instead. Thought this forum was for fun talking Mustangs/Tech..etc..not raising hell with folks for just giving "advise/opinions"? Geezzzzzz

sorry.. just got tired of the same stuff from people after I laid out quite nicely a cheaper option for the OP. Like I said.. if he didnt have the or/h-pipe and wanted headers then I'm all with you guys.

I'm sure I could dig one up. They pick up no significant power. Neither horsepower or torque.

The stock manifolds flow just as well. The only thing the shorties are good for, is the fact that they do look a hell of a lot better than a rusty old manifold.

Sorry if you didn't want to hear that. But it's the God's honest truth. I wouldn't sell them to a customer. I'd feel like I'm ripping them off.

I understand. I "had" JBA shorties..never installed them, I did install JBA long tubes since i planned on the supercharger in advance . I was gung ho on the shorties....till i read about the stock manifolds flowing so well. I didn't mean to step on any toes...sorry.

Well there is the issue of no rust...

IDGAF about engine "bling". Awful expensive for a "rust remover". However, I did skip mentioning ceramic coating as far as a heat barrier, but thats not exclusive to shorties, so thats why I skipped mentioning it.

The weight loss is the only tangible, practical advantage over either the cast iron OR LTs. But the LTs compensate for their weight with a more than enough power increase.
