Alright have to replace mine because I snapped an idler pulley spoke and I have a replacement with me. My question(hopefully its tech) is has anyone had to remove theirs and use a special tool to remove the oil seal at the crank? Looking at my AllData sheets about it and that would be the only place I would be stuck. Anyone use anything different to take it out or not need to take it out?

I replaced mine on my 07 once. Popped it out with a screwdriver and knocked it back in with a seal press but you could use a big ass socket to

You can get the tools but won't need them. A block of wood can be used to seat the new seal too.

If you were pulling the seal while the cover was installed you would need a seal removal tool and possibly an installation tool.

I used a big ass socket to punch it out and a seal press tool from harbor freight.

I take them out with a screw driver, you aren't really planning on reusing a $10 front seal are you ? As far as insert, a large socket, block of wood with hammer or rubber mallet will all do the trick. Only thing to be sure is drive it in straight and with equal pressure.

You know, why isn't your engine build thread been cleaned up a bit and made a sticky ? I cannot count the times I keep referring back to it for answers, don't think of me as a stalker but I purposely search your new posts to see what Im going to learn.

Can't tell you. A lot of time and effort when into those posts and they contain good information that seems like is asked about all the time.

Few things I would change if I had to do it all over again, but overall it's good light reading.
