Got my 2010 GT tuned. Made 470whp & 414wtq on 10psi at 6200rpms.

It has been close to 110 out here in Arizona. I know there is not much to do with it being that hot.

I have seen Redline Water Wetter mentioned, lower temp t-stat and better fans.

I'm still looking into those, but thought I would post to see what others are doing.

I rather start with those if they will help before jumping into more expensive mods.

my friend lowered his with ram air hood that he has the air going over the head unit, he used the tru fiber venom gts hood and body shop molded vents over the head unit,

2nd friend had a vortec and he took off his hood scoop cut hole in hood and created a air pathway to head unit with air filter like screen mesh thing then rebolted his hood scoop To keep engine bay and head unit cooler, it was still hot after testing but not as hot as it used to be

Inject it with meth, all the cool kids are doing it. Lol j/k

Royal purple Ice is another option to help keep engine temperatures cool.

I just picked up the Redline Water Wetter. Putting it in as soon as the engine cools off.

Looked into the heat exchanger and only seen them listed for the GT500's. Looks like it might be a challenge to install with the tight spaces from the Procharger. Not to mention they are pricey.
Is there a bolt on option for better fans that are slimmer then stock and keeps the over-flow and PS in the sstock spots.

Would a lower t-stat also help, not much mention of those.

Are you looking to cool the engine or the Procharger?

Mostly the engine, just want it to run little cooler during the hot summers.

I know it will hard if not impossible to cool the Procharger. But I am looking at a different hoods with functional hood scoop and vents.

I have a D1 in El Paso ( add 200+ whp 160 whtq and about 8 psi), weather temps similar to yours. Running a 3 speed 4r70. Stock fans, mishmoto radiator. I run distilled water (0 antifreeze) and 3/4 a bottle of water wetter and the water temp is around 205.

Did you get it tuned at Extreme Performance? I'm also concerned with temps... was looking into getting the Super Louver hood from Tiger Racing, but it's pretty pricey. I was also considering some options for louvers like in this thread: http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85073

We'll have to meet up some time when I get my car back! I usually go up to Buckeye about once every week.

I've stopped by their shop, but haven't worked with them. I've heard good things though. Wanted to get feedback from someone with firsthand experience because they are the nearest place to me. I missed their last dyno day and hoping they have another one soon..

I run a Mishimoto radiator and a Steeda race cowl hood. Temps stay between 180-200 on hot humid days. It will raise above that if Im getting on it good in the extreme heat, but the temps come back down quick with the air allowed to escape with the race cowl hood..

I have yet to see a price on the Tiger Racing hood, but i will say it is the best I have seen.
Louvers would be a good cheaper option.

Yeah got it tuned at Extreme on Monday. I have been to the shop a few times before to talk to the owner/tuner. He is a very cool guy and made me comfortable to have him tune my car.....and this is rare.
I would recommend them.

I haven't logged any data yet, just going off the stock temp gauge and the huge power loss from beating on it. I got the gauge to move a good deal from normal, but it did return when driving normal......well normal for me.

I would like to remove some of the heat from the engine bay, but those options are pricey.

Dont mistaken engine coolant temps and IAT's..If your power feels like its going way down in boost and in the heat, then timing is getting pulled from the tune, which it should. Maybe the tune is too conservative, ask your tuner what the paramaters are for timing getting pulled. MAybe your after-cooler isnt efficient enough. Get a good temperature gauge for the coolant, and mount the sensor in the top area of the crossover. The dash factory gauge sucks, its almost like an idiot light..

Copied from my email with Paul from Tiger Racing:
The fiberglass hoods run $749, non-cosmetic carbon fiber is $1295 and there is a $60 box charge on top of that. Truck freight is around $250 to a commercial address, residential is much higher.

IIRC, CF weighs in at 15-16lbs and fiberglass is ~26lbs. I don't trust myself enough to take a cutting wheel to my hood (for the GT500 louvers) so I'm probably going to go with one of the fiberglass models (still weighs less than stock).

Yeah I understand the differences. I was mostly concerned with coolant
temp. Getting cooler IAT's is going to cost and be hard from what I have found for the Procharger.
The tune is really conservative, another cool thing about Extreme is he went over most of the tuning with me. There are a few things I want changed and will bring up what the parameters are for timing getting pulled and see if there is room to help.
It is a great idea to add a gauge for coolant temp, but I'm thinking about pulling the wideband and boost gauge I have now......after I make final changes.

Thanks for the great advice.

Wow.....that's not bad at all. I will have to put that on the list after i finish the wife's Jeep.
I have to look more into the louvers, if they are cheap and don't look to difficult I might try it.
Worst case I screw it up and have to get the Tiger Racing hood sooner.

Man, if you do decide on the Super Louver, let me know! I'm sure we could combine shipping costs or get a discount or something on shipping two hoods to the same location. Are there any good places in Buckeye (or W. Valley) you know of to have it painted?
