TPMS question

My mom has a 2011 V6. As soon as she bought the car she picked up a set of chrome bullits from a 2006 Mustang. They do not have TPMS sensors so for the last 35k miles or so she hasn't been running any TPMS and the light is bothering her. I'm picking up a set of 2013 wheels to replace her bullits so I was wondering how I fix the TPMS and/or shut the light off. Will the TPMS sensors from a 13 work with the 11?

Well I ended up getting the GT/CS wheels instead of the 13s so now it's a non issue. She just has to deal with the light haha. Thanks Brandon

You can always buy the sensors and have them installed. It would of been better to do it when mounting the tires but if it really bothers her it can be fixed.

My friend is a Ford mechanic and added new wheels and tires to his 09. He has no sensors and has no light. He has been running this for 6 months. I asked him about it, knowing from what everyone says it cannot be turned off but somehow he did it. I don't know if he did it through the computer or removing the bulb or what he did. He just said "I got it out" so I didn't ask anymore. I did ask him about the 11's and up and he said "I can disable it, no problem". Is this true anyone? I have no reason not to believe him, anyone know if it can be done or know how or is it bullshit? I have driven his car a few times and no light.

If you find out please let us know. Some people have been known to program the sensors and put them in a plastic tube that will hold pressure or put them all on the spare.

You can't disable the system. To get the light to turn off you either trick it, or break it. I think EMAY on moddedmustangs.com found out what wires belonged to it and cut them out of the harness.

I want to know more also. He did not use a tube. IDK if he covered the light up, I do know the warning chime doesn't go off. I will ask more again soon.
