My light comes back on each time after driving 20-30 minutes.

Maybe: since the accelerometer in the TPMS units aren't generating a signal because they aren't turning and the PCM says the car is moving and after that set amount of time (20-30 minutes) with the receiver not getting a signal of movement from the TPMS, it just lights up, figuring there is a fault or damage with the TPMS.

I actually installed a set of rims with sensors, but this wasn't doing terrible

yeah, just store it somewhere it can move. don't lock it in place so that the sensors don't get "woken" up
