Thanks Mach2. Sorry to hear you're having the same issues as 69Mach1. Are you guys convinced it's the rotors or is there some other issue with this kit that I'm going to be faced with? Have you guys identified where the sound is coming from, front/rear, right/left, etc?

99% sure that it is the rotor/pad combination that was chosen. Unless Mike comes up with a definitive "fix" soon I'm going to try to live with it for a while just to see. Some other members on here have said it eventually goes away. My biggest concern is whether it's gonna return each time new pads are installed.

I've had them on and off Multiple times and wasted many, many hours dealing with this.. drove it on the lift trying different combos & on the road to test this bullshit.. . It's definitely the TPS Slotted & Dimpled Rotors.

Long story short:

- Hawk Pads + TPS S/D Rotors = L O U D Ticking that I can hear over my off-road exhaust with Borla Stingers.

- OEM pads + TPS S/D Rotors = the same ticking sound

- Hawk Pads + the OEM rotors = almost OEM quiet (when stopping it's alittle louder)

- OEM pads + OEM rotors = OEM quiet

I've driven with the rears back to OEM and the front set still ticking away sense the 4th of July.. I still have the Hawk + S/D rotors on the front because of the Brembo's.. I've put well over 1000 miles on her with zero change to the ticking sound.

Hoping to get the Blank Rotors, that were suppose to be shipped out Monday the 23rd, some time this year.

After looking at everything we've shipped out the last 3 months since 69Mach1-409 & Mach2burnout have received their rotors the only conclusion I can come up with from the data given by every one is that the 2 sets of rotors they received is causing the noises they are experiencing. As far as what is causing the noise I'm not sure until we get the rotors back into our shop and install them on a vehicle to see what's causing the issues.

We shipped out over 120 sets of rotors with over 70 sets of slotted/ dimpled and only the 2 sets had noise. In fact, we installed 2 sets of slotted dimpled rotors in the shop this week and both did not have the issues you guys are experiencing.. 1 was for a Corvette and 1 was for a GT500.

With that being said replacement rotors are being sent to the customers above and once I receive the tracking numbers they will be forwarded to the customers. At TPS we stand behind EVERYTHING we install or sell and this is no exception.

Mine are still making the clicking noise too. I'm just going to live with it. I just don't have the time to keep switching parts out.

I haven't received my replacements yet.

69Mach1 your going with just slotted this time? Or slotted/dimpled like you had?

I don't really care how many changes we have to make. I want to help Mike get to the bottom of this, so others won't have this problem.

Long story there.. I finally received slotted rotors Monday and, after a call to Mike, he swears they will be silent. I'm tossing them on this weekend, doing the bedding procedure, and going to give them some miles.. again.

This is the last time for me. If it doesn't work I'm done.. going back to OEM. 5 brake swaps, is 4 too many IMO.

I definitely agree with you. But like I said before, my car is not a DD so I don't mind helping Mike do a little R&D. If he's willing to pay for shipping, etc. I'll put parts on and take them off as many times as needed. I like the look of the components as well as the performance so I'll be his guinea pig to work this noise issue out if need be.

At this time we have 3 sets on this thread that have this noise issue correct?

Yeah, I believe it was three.

Mine is my DD and I've been putting up with this for 5 weeks. ..and believe me, when you've dropped this much $$$$$ and time into your car, then have people staring at you with that 'WTF is wrong with your car' look, it pisses you off..

No doubt. When I went to Houston last weekend for the TX-LA meet, pedestrians gave me that look a couple of times. If mine was a daily driver I'd be just like you are. I spend money on mine for most part, I don't drive that much and that is why I have a little more patience.
I got a ton of $$$$$ in mine too. So I know how that is.

I don't have the slotted/dimpled rotors like you guys do. My situation is that I ordered slotted/drilled and received slotted only. My kit hasn't even been on the car yet. Mike sent me an email today indicating the slotted/drilled discs should be on the road to me today. I'm waiting on tracking numbers as I type this.

You should not have any issues with the new set you just received... as I have said before... I'm not sure what's causing the issues but we'll need to get the old set back so we can find out why yours is making the noise that it is.... we've shipped out over 70 sets of rotors since you received yours and over 40 of them have been dimpled slotted with no issues...

The new slotted rotors are on and the ticking.... is gone!!!

We went to the AM show yesterday, so they've got around 100 miles on them so far.. and no ticking!!!

There's still the expected noises when wearing off the coating, but no ticking!!!

Can you tell I'm just alittle excited / relieved about this?
