From a purely hypothetical standpoint, would this be permissible/acceptable?

Lets just say your arch rivel was staging in front of you while you prepare and wait to do your burnout...

It's dark...

The tree starts to light up (for the above mentioned arch rival) and you "accidently" flash your high-beams behind him/her when the first or second amber light glows...

Just courious...

It could happen. I know I've pulled into the water box with my lights off, and the track guy signals me to turn them on. I guess its possible that the timing of turning those lights on could coincide with another car staging ahead of me.

If someone did that to me, I'd probably never know it. First of all, I'm pretty focused when I'm staging/staged, and I'm not looking in the mirror. Secondly, my 5% window tint blocks almost everything behind me. lol

if you are in front of him, roll through the box and drag an ass-load of water to the line with ya. Come slow out of the hole and you will be fine. He will be all over the track on the way out.

I've done that twice to some asshole who started a fight with me after losing to me.

T&T night...not for points...

Off-topic... but I have a little pet peeve at the track. It makes no sense to me when someone puts on both stage beams, and then proceeds to sit there and bump the motor off of the rev limiter… before I even pre-stage!! Why can’t they wait until I at least light the top bulb?? Anyway, when my opponent did it to me on this run (Video), I decided to leave him hanging there. I was not going to roll in until he backed off the throttle. And the funny thing is that Donna knew exactly what I was doing (because she knows how much that annoys me).

LOL, that was great...I do the same thing. Mostly because the biggest offenders are ricers. The guys with old school hotrods are polite enought to sit in pre-stage until you pre-stage.

I don't mind if someone lights both bulbs... especially if its accidental. I've done that myself. It's when they do it on purpose and then sit there with the 4-banger going pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop that drives me nuts.

I'd say they are not thinking of anything but the tree.

While I'm pretty focused on the tree there are some racers who would back up, get out of the car, come back to you and commence the ass kicking. Off track stuff is tolerable (unless you fuck with someone's car, woman, or kid and then you're in deep shit) but screwing around with someone on the racetrack is a definite no-no. While most street nights are filled with dipshits there are some racers who take things very seriously.

Funny you should mention this. Jim Campisano did this to me at Commerce in 2001 when he was driving the Paxton car. Qualifying pass too. I was just coming out of the water when he turned on both bulbs and went on the transbrake. Sammy (FFW starter) backed him out. I went in on top bulb.....he went in on two and on the brake. Again, Sammy backs him out of the second bulb. I go in on the second bulb.....he goes into second bulb and onto the brake. I have "DEEP" on every window so I take around six seconds to go deep while Mr. Magazine has his converter ballooning. Then I hit him with a .008 light to his .255 and he's pissed again.

As a result....guess who never got his picture into MM/FF in the race coverage even when he was in the final round?
