yes I did do a search on this. The reason I'm posting is that everyone who seems to have this problem seems to have it on a cold start or while the engine is cold.
I get a rattle at any temperature at about 2800 RPM. It's a short range but it looks like around 2750 to about 2900. At first I thought it was a look heat shield on a cat, but later realized the cats themselves don't really have heat shields and the shields mounted on the body weren't really loose. I could see that separator plate being the problem it just seems to rattle at a different time than for most people.
What do you guys think? is there anything else around there that can rattle that way?

Have you done the separator plate fix to see if it cures it?

There is a TSB on this. Just replace it with the update separator plate

I haven't yet. I was just hoping for an opinion or possible alternative before I throw time and money at it. So if there's no other ideas I guess that's what I'll do.

Thanks, didn't think to use the word "vibration" I guess because that one didn't come up when I searched for "rattle".
