I was in this same predicament. I chose the 5.0 and I have no regrets. Throw some boost on it until it blows then build it up and add more boost. LOL

GT500. It already has a strong transmission and clutch. The motor is decent too. Throw a 2.9 whipple on it with the frpp calibration and make a super safe 630rwhp with every part in the car able to take it. Plus it has a nice looking back end.

Bahahha I lol at some of these comments. Get a 5.0 dude... mine just went 10.82 in the quarter with minimal mods. Gt500s are cool..... I guess. My buddies super bad ass 758 rwhp gt500 was running like bottom 11.x

Definately 2011+ 5.0. You have a 300 pound weight advantage and better handling. Also a better interior. Paxton supercharger + 5.0= 10 second car. And you can find a nicely modded 5.0 for mid to high $20k's

It depends what you want to do with the car... will it be a daily driver... driven in traffic everyday?

or

will it sit most days in your garage and be driven when you feel the need for speed...

Daily Driver - 5.0 (automatic)

Garage Queen - GT500

Yeah, I don't understand this statement either. What makes a GT500 a "garage queen"? Please educate us.

Was thinking the same thing. If you want to go fast and do it reliably get an AUTO 5.0.

I don't get it either. A 13,000 mile 2008 GT500 vs. 2011 GT for the same money. GT500 is a no brainer imo. Unless you prefer an auto because the GT500 is a manual. 2011 has the older design pistons, rembember #8? IMO the new body style didn't get decent until the 2013 came out.

5.0 and I vote *not* simply because attitude sucks and most don't like being called pussies!

Do what you like, there is no need to be like that.

Like I said mine isn't anything near a garage queen.

Darren doesn't have a GT500 but he treats that 5.0 unlike any temperamental car owner I've had the pleasure of knowing. Lol.

Good luck OP, you can't really go wrong with any selection. It all has to do with what you make it.

GT500, better exterior body styling, more powwaaaa!!!, more room for growth, better resale rate depending on how many miles you throw on it!

You fail! I googled pussy fight and this was the first image. You don't want to see the rest! Well, you do but I am not going to post it here.

I was lazy.. doing 3 other things at the same time.. haha

I'm going with 2013.. you get looks, engine that CAN make 700wrhp(unless aed tunes it) and a warranty(until you throw on SC)

Save yourself time and money and just go steal Darrens car and leave a cardboard cut out.. it will take him years to find out.

LOL. I don't remember you being so sensitive. I leave the forum for a year or so and everyone goes soft. :nana1:

Guys, I would love to go the 13 route, but being the GSM for a Chrysler/Chevrolet dealership wouldn't go over too well. :) So hence the only Ford I can really, ummmm, get away with buying is one we take in on trade. I'm sure I could snag an 11 GT from the auction, but I hate chasing cars. This GT500 happened to fall into my lap and has sparked my interest again.
