Taking bets on how long it takes happypanda to make pinkstatus.
I'd be deserving too, I definitely was baiting him.

There's no evidence of this. I'll bet every #8 failure is mod related. Guarranteed if Ford knew of a problem, they'd do what needs to be done to take care of it.
There have been MANY issues across Ford vehicles that they have refused to warranty. Spark plugs stuck in the 3valve at 25,000 miles? nah you have to pay for that. Fires starting in those trucks, never even a recall for those. there are tons and tons of things Ford has refused to warranty or recall when people know there is something wrong with it from the factory. Likely in a year or 2 there will be something different about the #8 piston and we'll be stuck with a broken engine. Typical of many Automakers, Ford is known for this though.
All I can do is cross my fingers and hope i'm not one of those unlucky few.
i think i was misusing the term illegal. i was more speaking in reference to the warranty.Removing cats is illegal too, but the majority of this board has done it. Speeding is illegal, street racing is illegal... Well, I could go on all day, but at some point maybe people should stop throwing stones from their glass houses.

i seem to remember the whole issue was over who to blame; ford or firestone...I personally enjoyed Ford's initial reactions to the exploding Explorer tires in the mid 90s.

Ford has paid for all the spark plug issues I've seen that have been within the 3/36 warranty. There was a TSB on the diesels, it was a simple PCM reflash. The 00-01 Explorer Firestones were all recalled and Ford severed their ties with Firestone (although it was an ugly fight). Ford steps up on any problem that comes up.
All you see are the problems people have on the internet, you don't see what Ford does on the other end to take care of them. Have you seen the TSB lists for our cars? Every problem gets handled. I see it first hand, I deal with it every day.
With the thousands of 5.0's out there, if there really were a problem with them, we'd see countless failures, not just rumors of a couple. If there is a problem, I assure you, Ford will take care of it.
dont get me wrong i agree, i just remember the two of them arguing over it. it was all over the news for a while.Ford still approved the supplier, bolted on the part and sold it as a whole.
Maybe you should have bought a Chevy if you're so disappointed with Ford.
And my point is, Ford doesn't screw over their buyers, they do what they need to do to get the issue taken care of. And if there truly is an issue with the 2011's, Ford WILL take care of it.
You got a magic lamp? How do you know what they will do? Like seriously. I'm really hoping Ford does take car of it. The sooner they do, the sooner I can start modding without fear.
Cool, so what day is it the fix going to be made public?
I have been sitting back and watching. I was thinking about posting this, but, am a newbie and trying to lay low:Maybe you should have bought a Chevy if you're so disappointed with Ford.
There isn't a problem to fix...![]()
You just lost credibility.
