Removing cats is illegal too, but the majority of this board has done it. Speeding is illegal, street racing is illegal... Well, I could go on all day, but at some point maybe people should stop throwing stones from their glass houses.

There's no evidence of this. I'll bet every #8 failure is mod related. Guarranteed if Ford knew of a problem, they'd do what needs to be done to take care of it.

There have been MANY issues across Ford vehicles that they have refused to warranty. Spark plugs stuck in the 3valve at 25,000 miles? nah you have to pay for that. Fires starting in those trucks, never even a recall for those. there are tons and tons of things Ford has refused to warranty or recall when people know there is something wrong with it from the factory. Likely in a year or 2 there will be something different about the #8 piston and we'll be stuck with a broken engine. Typical of many Automakers, Ford is known for this though.

All I can do is cross my fingers and hope i'm not one of those unlucky few.

I personally enjoyed Ford's initial reactions to the exploding Explorer tires in the mid 90s.

i think i was misusing the term illegal. i was more speaking in reference to the warranty.
I'd be deserving too, I definitely was baiting him.
we can go down together

Ford has paid for all the spark plug issues I've seen that have been within the 3/36 warranty. There was a TSB on the diesels, it was a simple PCM reflash. The 00-01 Explorer Firestones were all recalled and Ford severed their ties with Firestone (although it was an ugly fight). Ford steps up on any problem that comes up.

All you see are the problems people have on the internet, you don't see what Ford does on the other end to take care of them. Have you seen the TSB lists for our cars? Every problem gets handled. I see it first hand, I deal with it every day.

With the thousands of 5.0's out there, if there really were a problem with them, we'd see countless failures, not just rumors of a couple. If there is a problem, I assure you, Ford will take care of it.

Ford still approved the supplier, bolted on the part and sold it as a whole.

At first after the ugly fight, Ford did in fact claim no fault and ignored claims. Which is why it got really ugly and the death toll got higher.

okay i guess the ford rangers catching on fire finally did get it's recall

http://www.switchfires.com/

issue started in 1995 vehicles, recall started in 2007... way to step up Ford. now I can finally mark that off my list of things Ford refused to correct or admit was faulty. with that kind of response in 2023 we can see our engines replaced :p

I have several posts from people saying they had to pay the dealership to remove those stuck spark plugs. I can dig up a bunch of threads on it. Most dealerships would tell people no dont bother with, they arent' due to be pulled till 75,000 miles (warranty well done)

Maybe you should have bought a Chevy if you're so disappointed with Ford.

I think his point is, Ford like all manufacturers. Aren't innocent when it comes to screwing over buyers. It's just how often they do it.

And my point is, Ford doesn't screw over their buyers, they do what they need to do to get the issue taken care of. And if there truly is an issue with the 2011's, Ford WILL take care of it.

You got a magic lamp? How do you know what they will do? Like seriously. I'm really hoping Ford does take car of it. The sooner they do, the sooner I can start modding without fear.

I have been sitting back and watching. I was thinking about posting this, but, am a newbie and trying to lay low:

For those of you that hate Ford so much, there is always the Camaro or Challenger. Or if it is American manufacturing, you always have the 370Z, Golf GTi or whatever Honda has. Personally, I am sticking with Ford. They have always taken care of me before.

When the flywheels started warping in the early GT500s and destroying clutches, Ford stepped up and replaced thousands of flywheels and clutches under warranty including mine. Even heavily modified cars. I had my whole transmission rebuilt on them. If it turns out to be something Ford is at fault for, they will cover it. IF it turns out to be the individual owners or aftermarket tuners mistakes, then you cant expect Ford to cover their mistakes.

I hate the tsb's wording of warranty cancellation, but, that does not mean they are out to get us all and void warranties. They are likely printing that to cover themselves for the guy that roasts his from abuse, returns it to stock and reflashes the computer. Then They would have to have something to base the cancellation on.
