Firmware update went South on my on my tuner and had to send it off to SCT for repair. That story is available upon request but SCT was very cool about it.

Prior to attempting the firmware update I put my car back to stock. I had previously stored my Stock file (stock.lbu) along with my 93 octane tune file.

I know, obviously, I have to load the 93 octane tune into the tuner. My question is do I also need to load the stock tune into the tuner or will it copy from the car when I add the 93 octane tune?

Thanks for you observations.

No need to load the stock file. The first time you upload a tune to the PCM, the tuner reads the stock tune, imports it, locks the tuner to the VIN, and then loads the performance tune. I have used SCT's Advantage ('Pro Racer' program) for my previous GT so I'm not just blowing e-smoke.
