Hey guys, I have an '05 GT (auto) and my friend has an '06 GT (manual) and both of our cars don't have cats on them. Now both of our CELs are on and I would like to turn mine off before my next inspection in the upcoming year. We all know how expensive tuners can be and being a college student means I'm tight on money. If my friend and I went half on a tuner (SCT), would we both be able to turn off our CELs? I know that the tunes it comes with (from Americanmuscle.com) are specific to each car, but would i be able to use his tuner just to delete the code on my car? Thanks.

clear the code yes, but it will come back, the only way to get the CEL gone is to get a proper tune, you will both need handhelds

stop buying beer and save

You could try the non-fouler trick. I don't know if that would keep it off or not. If you went 50/50 one of you would have to buy a tune separate, then you would have to get one inspected, then return it to stock (to unlock the tuner) and load the other car with its tune and get that one inspected. Now I believe you could only do this a couple of times since you can only unlock the tuner 5 times before you have to send it back to get reset. The other draw back is one of you would be able to keep the tune on and have no light, while the other would still be stuck with it.

Do you have to do that on all 4 of the O2 sensors?

Like said. the back O2, but you will need 4 they come in packs of 2. You will drill out 2 so the sensor fits through and leave the other 2 as is.
Note: If you do this mod, make sure you use at least a table top drill press and a nice vise to hold it tight. These things can be a B.tch to drill out even with a new bit.

With the non fouler trick, i need an 18mm fouler right? Also are these guaranteed to turn the light off for mustangs? Will it lead to any damage to the sensors and will it cause my computer to make my car run rich/lean?

I don't think anyone gives guarantee's for $10.00, worth a try, worked for my car. Some people of said that it worked for a few thousand miles some say 10k others no problems. If it works right away you should have plenty of time to get through Emish..It will take you longer to drill out the 2 connectors than it will take to install them. Yes 18mm..... the back O2s have nothing to due with your fuel trims or mixture, it just lets the computer know the cats are functioning. If it dosn't work you will have to get a tune, but $10.00 dollar effort is still thrifty.
