turbo guys...how are you venting your crank case?

i currently am using a catch can on the driver side,using suction just before the turbo inlet to draw the vapors thru the catch can. a breather on the pass. side. i pulled the catch can out tonight to empty it and there was nothing in it at all after 500 miles. when i was running n/a i would have has some in there after 500 miles. so im thinking the turbo does not have enough suction to draw the vapors like i wanted. so now im on a mission to find the best way to vent the crankcase,i have heard some just put filters on both sides?

please give me your experiance and what has/has not worked for you,what have you tried and what did you stick with?

i think the way you had it w/ the catch can on the driver side and the breather on the passenger side, all the blow by was coming out of the passenger side instead of into the catch can. i got both sides w/ breathers and the oil filler cap. i did have blowby out the passenger side, changed to 5w30 from 5w20 and now no blowby. also must keep the breathers clean.

so you guys running the filters everywhere...any oil spots on the hood? thats what im getting now,i get oil on the underside of my hood when i get on it. i used to get this also before when i had the stock motor,so i know i have alot of pressure in there.

Running the CFM filter on the oil filler tube will eliminate this mostly. I ran the valve cover breathers for a few weeks before getting the CFM filter and I got some blow by. Now that I've got the CFM oil filler breather I don't really get much blow by. It's about a drip or drop that is wiped off easily. By the way, CFM is in Longwood so it's local for us.

breathers on both covers none on the oil cap worked fine so far no vapors ( if any i dont notice them ) or oil spots

in the future i would like to go with some sort of pump to actually pull the air from the crankcase. anyone using a pump at all? for now i,i bought the oil cap filter deal and ill either do 2 filters or run both lines to a catch can.

i heard the pump is good for reducing the pressure greatly,so when the pistons are coming back down they are not fighting the pressure in the block.

evacuation pumps are supposed to increase hp and prevent seals to fails do the crankcase pressure. a lot of ppl use them on racing vehicles.
