same thing happen to me when I blew my engine back in august, had the kit on for one day and all of the sudden I see white smoke and pieces of the block all over the road. I was at 9psi making 445hp on mustang dyno. Now Im waiting till end of the year so I can find good deal on built shortblock. It sucks when I walk into my garage and see my car parked their and can't drive it!:ugh1:

i would imagine 445hp on the MD is pretty close to what i was pushing on the dynojet.I feel your pain lol, i just got home and to see my car there and know i cant drive it really sucks, and that i wont be able to drive it for a couple weeks maybe months sucks because now i gotta roll in a crappy sentra, i love to drive my car everywhere i go, it WAS my DD, (pastense) hopefully it can go back to being one lol

That video made me cringe. I would love a shortblock now too. I'd really rather have mine built to recoup some of the cost but I don't know if that is possible. If I look at it properly I could be very close to being in a short block right now if you add the 2k+ i just spent on gt500 stuff and then the extra 1k i'm about to spend on getting the tru trac +install.

that is true, that is pretty close to forging you block, if not thats about the right amount you would need i think lol I wish i could have known, i would have just forged my stock block, i wish i could just go back in time and forge my stock block before it blew

Hey man you have my number if you need help right? If not I'll send it to you. I've only briefly looked for shortblocks but really like the Ford Racing Aluminator in the near stock compression ratio. That or maybe the JDM 302 stroker short block. You could just get the one they are having the special on with the old Mach 1 block but you'd have to keep your car at about 12psi for that one as its only rated to 600~2995 i belive.

Yea man i have your number, i was actually gonna text you this week to see if you had some free time to help me install it lol, thats gonna have to wait now lol I hadnt looked at shortblocks at all actually, i was more worried about the clutch than the motor haha, hence why i was gonna purchase yours lol I like the price of the JDM with the mach1 block but i feel like ima want more power once all said and done then ill be stuck. I wanna do it right the first time. I like the JDM stroker with the 05+ block but thats like 5k for me since i dont have a core. I wanna run a setup like lightblade has, stock block, rods, pistons etc, ima just keep looking for a stock block. If i dont find any good deals then ill just buy a new block, maybe a boss 302 iron block would be nice

Jason, i wish i could be in your position where my block was still good, i would forge it. Im pretty sure your block should be fine to rebuild, dont know if there is a certain amount of miles where it is unsafe to rebuild a block or not though

Talk to Jeremy and ask him what he would do if he were to do it again. I doubt he'd build the block(I think thats what I've heard him say again). IIRC he mentioned just buying one that was already put together. The Aluminator is probably my first pick and can most likely be had for under 4k. I'd def do it right since you're having to do it in the first place. No skipped steps. Just keep in mind though, you might as well have the clutch put in now as you're going to need it with the increased power plus you'll save on the install fee. Thats another 800+ if you go RST. Don't mean to be a downer, but just trying to help you plan.

Yea that is true, i would imagine buying a new shortblock would be better, but idk if i can afford that right now, im a full time student and work also so i dont exactly have the money to do top quality builds lol. I dont wanna cheap out either, I really dont plan on running for than 8-10 psi on the street, maybe a little more for the track (13-15 psi) so i dont think i really need a 1000hp rated shortblock. Well atleast thats what i say for now lol, i just want my car back and running already lol
