Turbos and smoking is more often then not the oil seals inside of it.

Is the turbo new? Journal or ball bearing? Are you venting your crankcase properly? What size oil feed and drain? The drain is gravity so make sure it is a smooth bend down to the oil pan.

turbo is used bought it off of a member on here, wasn't used for long its journal. drain hose is mostly always pointing down exept where it meets the pan theres about 4 inches where is level as is connecting to the pan. I have a breather over my oil fill right now. theres also a pcv system my tuner put on running from intake to valve cover on drivers side where there is usually just the hose.

I would recommend breathers on the valve covers as well and cap the intake. Here is a cheap option.

What size is the oil drain should be at least 10an hose. (1/2" or larger inner diameter.)

And from there if that doesn't solve it I would run a .065 oil restrictor but no smaller than that.

If you do all these things and still have smoke suspect the turbo seals. Or welcome to running an oil fed turbo on a high oil pressure car. lol

I don't think I have a restrictor, do you think that the 4 inches of level drain hose could be an issue?

As long as its not uphill the straight is fine. The size of the line and fittings size matters though. Most important is fully venting the crankcase. Under boost you will be pressurizing the crankcase and if it doesn't vent it will backlog the turbo with oil since it has trouble draining to the pan due to the pressure there. It seems to be 50/50 on the restrictor some guys need it some don't. I ran a .065 restrictor with my journal bearing turbo's no issue.

Make sure the oil drain at the pan is ABOVE the oil level in the pan. I have seen people install the drain port too low, and this will cause the oil not to drain...leading to smoke.

Also, how is your valve cover ventilation configured? If anything is connected to the inlet of the turbo, such as from one or both valve covers, it could be sucking in oil vapors and smoking due to oil getting burned in the cylinders. (had it happen on my v6)

Exactly an all open setup is the way to go on a blow-through turbo setup. Don't want that oil vapor going through the coldside and getting on the maf either.
