KD - nice job

I'm kinda surprised they don't also give eighth and quarter mile speeds.

With a un-prepped track they wouldn't mean much, you're traction limited in the lower MPH area.

This exactly.

I have the trans calibration worked out fairly well I guess. It immediately shifts into 2nd gear no matter how light I am on the throttle and will not downshift back to 1st. So I just roll into the throttle part way to keep from spinning, and with no more power than I have I can go WOT at about 30 MPH. It does just a little chirp when the converter locks up, other than that it's stuck. I really doubt I could use first gear even on something like the R6 tires, so I'll probably just keep doing it this way.

Here's what the pbox has to say:

Congrats! I would love to go to an event like this.

Me, too. You know how many times I've stared at Google Maps' estimate of 1,600 miles one way in frustration?

Anyone know of a Texas-Mile-like event near DC?

Attendee who traveled the farthest, came down from Alberta. You could do it too, Vinny!

Nice guys, we had a good meal at the German restaurant Friday night. 230 is damn fast on a blower and factory EEC-V!

Some in car video. Not a whole lot to see there really though.

Was that on the stock 235's too? If so I bet that car chaps a lot of people's asses out there with expensive cars with big/stickier tires.

Congrats man

Thanks. They are the stock tires on the front, but I needed something taller on the rear to help with the gearing. Only vehicle I know of with a tall tire that is high speed rated is a Cayenne. So I bought tires for one of those, 255/55 P zero rosso, which are 29". They look like stock unless you look closely. Putting wedge in the car with the taller rears helped stability too. There's nothing allowed there like skinnies or drag radials/slicks. Those just don't stay seated on the wheel for a full mile on a surface that is much rougher than a dragstrip and have caused accidents there. Most of the fast cars run Hoosier R6 tires.

Man, the video really puts it in perspective. It takes some balls to get that sucker up to 180. Nice job.

Not that anyone cares (apparently) but your run plots out to around a 12.2 @ 126.6 on an unimproved dragstrip. heh

I'd ask about getting a tune, but I'm one of those loser stick shift guys :yuck:
