I was THAT close to 11's. Oh well, time for a taller tire I guess.

My nitrous was cutting off before I crossed the line due to the short tire and I have it set to cut off at 6300 rpm. I don't really feel comfortable spraying the car at any higher rpm than that.

I made a total of nine passes that night on the bottle, time were between 12.0's and 12.3's all night. It was hot and humid, so maybe with a little colder weather and better tires I can hit 11's.

That is still a really good time, good job! Now make sure you go out there on a cool less humid day and rip off an 11.

I presume you were running 275/40-17s? If so, I agree about the tire height... you're pushing the rpm limit in 4th gear with 4.10s. What tires are you looking to switch to? The 325/45-17 M&H's?

I was kinda thinking that the 325 would be too wide for a 9" wheel. I'll definitely look into those now. Thanks!

The M&Hs are not a true 325... they are more like a 265 in width (tread width is only 10.3"). The M&H 275s have a tread width of 8.8".

If you were to keep these tires on the road for everyday use, how many miles do you think you would get out of them? I know I use to get around 15k miles on Nitto DR's on my f-bodies and around 3-4k on M/T's, but I don't have any experience with the M&H's.

Paul has been running the M&Hs on the street for a while now... he'll have a better idea than me. But, since I only use them for the street (no smokey burnouts at the track), I'm hoping to get maybe 12K miles out of them. I guess I'll see in about 8-10 months or so.

I will be running the M&H’s on the street also and the guys at M&H said to expect about 5 to 6000 miles from a set if you race every weekend and 10 to 12000 if you only run occasionally.

Anytime I can hit a personal best and the car makes it home in one piece, I gotta say I am pretty happy!
Nice job, it's always good to know you can do better, gives more motivation to keep getting out there and chasing et's.

M&H posted this at another forum:

"If you only run at the track, you will get 1-2 year out of the drag radials, after 2-years replace them. If you run the drag radial everyday on the street, you will get 4-6000 miles out of them depending on how hard of a driver you are."

4K-6K sounds pretty low to me. I thought Paul said he got more than that, even when using them at the track, too. I'll be sure to let you know how long they last for me... 100% street duty and no burnouts.
