I want to do something very different, a small block Ford 427 from Blueprint engines. I know it would need a K-member among other things. I was wondering if anyone else has done something similar, I've seen a couple of others doing this but it was awhile ago. Some might say why would I want to go old school SBF but that with the Sniper 2 efi its not that old school and coyotes are so a dime a dozen now. I just think it would be cool to hear that rumble from an 05. The thing that concerns me is the wiring because I want everything to work if it can, Dash A/C. cruise, windows and lights and anything else I'm not thinking about.
Any thoughts from others would be welcome, thanks

Since you mentioned keeping A/C, I assume the plan is for this to remain a street car?
The issue with that is it will never be emissions legal. I'm sure there are plenty of places where you'll get away with it for now but the car will forever be one election away from being taken off the road.

Yes, it will be a street car with the occasional drag and drive thrown in. I live in Iowa we don't have emission checks here. I'm not worried about the emission stuff here yet, there hasn't been any talking about doing that in Iowa.

It's nothing special just a mineral Gray coupe with parchment interior. I haven't started this project yet just typing my thoughts here to get any thoughts from you guys.

My 05’ GT is mineral gray and I LOVE it!

Car looks clean and ready for an upgrade. You might want to look into a coyote swap.

As much as I like a Coyote swap 'cause it's such an awesome engine, there's nothing special about it anymore since it's been done so many times.
A 7.3L Godzilla swap would be different because few have done it and, with bolt ons/tune, it can produce massive torque. The engine's also more compact leaving more space for LT headers, and the engine's also becoming increasingly common which means prices are falling for good used ones.

No coyote they've been done to death. Godzilla would be cool also. I haven't heard a 7.3 run in person yet, so that's a possibility.

The only thing wrong besides normal dings and scratches with my 05 is rust on driver side rear wheel arch.

This is the package I was thinking of, a bit pricey but comes with everything, almost turnkey with a 30 month warranty and transmission. I live close enough to Blueprint Engines I can go pick it up myself.

30k for a pushrod SBF? You are crazy. For that kind of coin, you can get a 1000 hp coyote. But hey, itsyour coin.

I agree 100%, hence why I recommended a Coyote, but everyone has their own dreams…

So good luck on the project and keep us looped in on any progress.

I forgot to mention that I want this to be my tribute to a Mach 1, Flat black hood with shaker hood scoop, that's the real reason for no coyote. I'm also not looking for monster horsepower 541 is more than enough for a cruiser and occasional drag and drive car. I know that the engine package in spendy but adding all the part prices up is not far off what you need.

Don't look at just the price tag look at everything it comes with. Trans controller, starter, a/c compressor, power steering pump, water pump, alt.and the Holley Sniper2. I currently don't have any of these parts at all.
